WARWICK, RI — Warwick Police are investigating a 30-year-old Warwick man’s overdose death at 2121 Elmwood Ave. at the man’s business, but have not identified the man or the business.
WPD Det. Commander Joseph Hopkins said in a release to media this afternoon that the business is next to Salon You Are You and Lindy’s Ice Cream in the plaza. A search warrant was served at the business Monday, Hopkins said.
“The investigation is still active, and as a result, no further information can be released at this time,” Hopkins said.
At the address, property manager Andrew Butler said the lot is home to a “handful” of businesses, more than the two listed by Warwick Police.
Butler said the man was discovered dead on Saturday in the mid-day hours. He declined to identify the business owner or his business, but described it as a legal business.
According to the RI State Department’s business portal, there are four businesses at the site listed with up-to-date records: Salon You Are You, Lindy’s Ice Cream, Audio Visual Services, LLC, and Frozen Desserts, LLC.
