WARWICK, RI — Warwick Police are investigating a Holt Street fire during which a woman was injured & a man was killed early this morning, following a report of a house fully engulfed in flames.
Warwick officers responded to the call at approximately 12:34 a.m., for 7 Holt St., according to Warwick Police. Callers also reported two people were trapped in the home.
The Warwick Fire Department, including a Warwick Fire Rescue truck, was also deployed to the scene.
One woman was removed from the home and taken to an area hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation. One man was located inside the home by members of the Warwick Fire Department as they entered the residence. The man was deceased at the time he was located by WPD personnel. His identity has not yet been confirmed.
Officials Investigating Holt Street Fire
Members of the Warwick Police Department, Warwick Fire Department and RI State Fire Marshal’s Office are conducting a joint investigation in an attempt to determine the cause of the fire. This remains an active investigation.
