WARWICK, RI — Warwick Police received a request for help finding a missing 15-year-old girl from the Allegan County Sheriff’s Office in Michigan Sunday, locating the girl and arresting a 43-year-old Warwick man wanted on two felony warrants, sexual assault and fugitive from justice charges.

Warwick Detectives learned from the Michigan officials that the girl had been missing since Aug. 2. They also learned that the girl was likely in Warwick, and began surveillance of a home following the information.

Detectives checked the home and found the missing girl there.

The investigators also used information from the Allegan County Sheriffs to secure an arrest warrant for two felony charges for Charles J. Morancey, 43, of 1110 Main Ave., Warwick. Officers later arrested Morancey on the warrants.

Warwick detectives also report their investigation led them to charge Morancey with four counts of third degree sexual assault.

Mourancey is being held for the next session of District Court, according to Warwick Police.
