WARWICK, RI — In August, Cumberland Farms’ Cups for Kids campaign will donate 5 cents from every iced coffee or Chill Zone sale in the Northeast to pediatric care programs at five regional hospitals.
Nearby, the Floating Hospital for Children at Tufts Medical Center in Boston, MA will be among the medical centers benefiting from the annual fundraiser. The full service children’s hospital in Boston with a mission to improve the lives of children like Sheila Parma, 12, of Tewksbury, Massachusetts.
Sheila, diagnosed with an auto immune disease called Necrotizing Myositis, an extremely rare soft tissue infection involving muscle, visits Floating Hospital for Children at Tufts Medical Center for monthly infusions. She enjoys visiting with the Child Life team when visiting the hospital. The Child Life Specialists keep her spirits high and make her life easier during her treatments. In her free time, she likes to cook and participate in her school drama club.
