WARWICK, R.I. — Warwick Police were called to Seasons Corner Market, 2128 Elmwood Ave., at 10:30 p.m. Monday for a car theft in progress, then alerted to a robbery in progress at Valero Gas, 885 Post Road, later arresting a 21-year-old man and charging him in the related crimes.

Officers learned a 1997 Toyota Corolla had been stolen from the gas pump area at the Seasons Corner Market while left unattended, with the keys in the vehicle, as the owner went inside to pay for gas, according to Warwick Police. The suspect in the robbery, a white male, 5’7-5’8, average build, reportedly fled north on Post Road in a small black sedan after taking an undetermined amount of cash from the store clerk.

Officers investigating the auto theft located the stolen vehicle abandoned in the area of Heath Ave and Second Ave. Detectives determined that the stolen vehicle was the same vehicle used by the suspect in the robbery at Valero Gas.

While canvassing the area where the stolen vehicle was recovered, detectives located and arrested a suspect in the robbery. The suspect was identified as Nathan Fay, 21. Fay was charged with Second Degree Robbery and Driving a Motor Vehicle Without Consent of the Owner.

Warwick Police asked anyone with further information related to these incidents is requested to contact the Warwick Police Department Detective Division: Det. Sgt. Pierce 401-468-4261, or Det. DeDonato 401-468-4273.
