WPD Arrests Three Men in Raid of Motel 6 Meth Lab

UPDATE – March 17: Court records show the three men arrested during a raid of an apparent meth lab at Motel 6, 20 Jefferson Boulevard on Sunday hail from Warwick, Cranston and Tiverton.

All three men, Joseph Bennett, 54, of 565 Meadow View Ave., Warwick, Arthur Oliveira, 49, of 75 Montgomery St., Tiverton and Christopher Ferrazza, 43, of Cranston were arraigned in Third District Court Monday and assigned public defenders.

Bennett and Ferrazza were each charged with one felony count of manufacturing methamphetamine. Oliviera was charged with a felony count of possession of methamphetamine.

Bennett was unable to post bail and was held pending an April 20 court screening. His case was transferred to Superior Court.

Ferrazza was held without bail, and is due in Third District Court for a bail hearing March 30. He is also waiting an April 20 court screening, in Third District Court.

Oliviera was released on $10,066 bail, and was also scheduled for an April 20 court screening in Third District Court.

Monday, March 16: Warwick, RI – The Motel 6 on Jefferson Boulevard was evacuated Sunday night after Warwick Police raided a meth dealing operation there on a tip, discovering a meth lab in one of the rooms in the process.

According to a release from the WPD, police arrested three RI men during their raid of the motel at at 20 Jefferson Blvd, whose names were withheld due to the ongoing investigation. Police are charging the men with possession of methamphetamines and manufacturing of methamphetamines.

All three are expected to be arraigned today at the Kent County Court house.

As soon as it was learned that methamphetamines were being manufactured in the hotel room, the motel was evacuated for precautionary measures, according to police. The Drug Enforcement Administration’s Clan Lab Team responded and assisted with the investigation.
