Warwick, RI — Local police are seeking information on two department store thefts that happened within three days of each other, according to the Rhode Island Most Wanted website.
In both cases, surveillance cameras recorded the suspects and provided photos that may help in identifying them.
Theft #1: Electronics taken from WalMart
The first incident happened on Sept. 12 at the WalMart on Post Road. A black male entered the store at 7 a.m. and went to the electronics section where, according to police, he “concealed numerous computer and electronic goods on his person.”
The man then left the store without paying for the electronics.
According to the Most Wanted website, the same man is suspected in a similar incident earlier this year.

Theft #2: Woman’s purse filched at Target
Warwick Police released surveillance photos from a Sept. 14 incident at the Target store at 1245 Bald Hill Road, where a white male is suspected of stealing a woman’s purse from a carriage in the parking lot.
The victim told police that she accidentally left the purse in a shopping cart around 4:25 p.m., and security cameras show the man “immediately” snatching the purse, according to police.
Officers later reviewed surveillance footage from the store and found footage of the man accompanied by two women and a baby. The group later left in black four-door vehicle which may be a Saturn Ion.
