Warwick, RI — Police have identified the woman suspected of passing two bad checks at the Citizens Bank on Quaker Lane on Oct. 25.

The Rhode Island Most Wanted website reported that Carmen Montanez, 41, of Providence, was recorded by surveillance cameras after she cashed two checks, one for $2,500 and another for $2,000, within minutes of each other.

According to online court records, Montanez made a plea deal in 2012 on a felony charge of food stamp fraud brought by the Rhode Island Attorney General’s office, resulting in a five-year deferred sentence. She currently owes $395 in court costs and fines on that charge.
