Warwick’s Hathaway Named IPDA Debate Champion at St. Anselm

BOSTON — Sara Hathaway of Warwick, RI, majoring in Political Communication, and graduating in 2022, was crowned as Regional Champion at the IPDA regional debate tournament at St. Anselm College in November, which she attended with the Emerson College Forensics Team.

The Emerson Forensics Team is a nationally competitive speech and debate team, that represent Emerson College as they travel across the country competing in 12 different public speaking events.

The International Public Debate Association is one of the fastest growing interscholastic debate associations in the nation, with competitive programs ranging from California to Florida, from Texas to Michigan.  Its mission is to provide an opportunity for individuals to develop their advocacy skills in a forum that promotes appropriate and effective communication.
