It’s the first Warwick Weekend of December and it’s chock-full of great holiday events for the entire family. From the Holiday Lights Spectacular at Roger Williams Park Zoo, to the annual Picozzi Christmas display, to a live radio version of ‘It’s a Wonderful Life’

There’s even a children’s ornament decorating event — a ton to take in all weekend long! 

Friday, Dec. 3

Adult Swim at McDermott Pool

Enjoy adult swim at McDermott Pool today from 5:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 8 p.m. to 9:20 p.m. McDermott Pool, 975 Sandy Lane, Warwick.

Friday Night Holiday Markets

Join the Providence Flea for its Friday night holiday markets featuring more than 70 vendors, artisans, makers and food trucks plus hot coffee drinks from New Harvest and cocktails from RI Cruisin Cocktails. 5-9 p.m., indoors at Farm Fresh Market Hall, 10 Sims Ave., Providence.

Holiday Lights Spectacular at Roger Williams Park Zoo

Grab the family and head to Roger Williams Park Zoo for its annual Holiday Lights Spectacular for an all new walk-through experience featuring a dazzling light display throughout the zoo featuring larger-than-life displays of more than 1.5 million lights. Reserve tickets in advance online. Tickets are $12 for adults and $10 for children ages 2-12. 5-9:30 p.m., Roger Williams Park Zoo, 1000 Elmwood Ave., Providence. 

Bring Your Own Improv (BYOI) 

Bring Your Own Improv is back for family friendly live performances every Friday from 7-8:30 p.m. Tickets are available at the door only. General admission tickets are $15, $10 for WCFA members, seniors, students, military and first responders, hospital employees and minimum wage workers Tickets are available at the door only. It’s A Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play

Back by popular demand, join George, Mary, Zuzu and the entire town of Bedford Falls as they come to life in this staged 1940s radio broadcast of Frank Capra’s holiday movie classic. Tickets are $49-$69. 7:30-9:30 p.m. The Gamm Theatre, 1245 Jefferson Blvd., Warwick.

23rd Annual Pawtucket Winter Wonderland Festival

Head to Pawtucket tonight and take in the 30-acre Christmas display located in Slater Park. The largest Christmas display in Rhode Island consists of 650 decorated Christmas trees, more than 100 light displays, 20 victorian style houses, multiple 40′ LED mega trees, a read-along “Night Before Christmas” display, and so much more. 4-8 p.m., Slater Memorial Park, Pawtucket.

Picozzi Family Christmas Display

Santa’s mailbox is at the display again this year at the Picozzi Family Christmas display, 75 Gristmill Road, the holiday project of Mayor Frank Picozzi for years before his election as Mayor.
“Every child that mails a letter to Santa will get a reply from Santa. We ask that you use a self-addressed envelope if you can. No need for a stamp, we have that covered. Also, the family is collecting voluntary donations for The Tomorrow Fund again this year. Cash is fine and if you use a check please make it out to “The Tomorrow Fund,” Picozzi wrote on the event’s Facebook page.
The display runs Sunday through Thursday from 5:30 to 9 p.m. and Friday and Saturdays from 5:30 to 10 p.m. If you stay in your car tune your radio to 97.1 FM.
