WARWICK, RI — This Warwick Weekend events roundup features a foodie Friday,  Pawtuxet Rangers meat raffle and Contra Dancing Saturday, then a paint your pet at Proclamation benefiting Rhode Home.

The weather for this week’s Warwick Weekend events promises a chance of rain ranging from 20 – 50 percent, with high temps in the mid- 60s, according to the National Weather Service. So have a hat or an umbrella handy while you’re out and about.

Warwick Weekend Events Friday:

WCFA Educator’s Art Exhibit Our annual Rhode Island Art Educators Exhibit is now on view! Come see a vibrant showcase of work by educators around the Ocean State.  The exhibit shows at the WCFA gallery, 3259 Post Rd, Warwick, RI 02886. The  gallery  is open from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday.  Admission is free.

Goddard Park Farmer’s Market Every Friday through Columbus Day Weekend, RI Grown, DEM’s farmer’s market program, hosts farmer’s market at Goddard Park selling delicious and freshly-harvested local foods direct from the farm to your dinner table. This is the of the first Warwick Weekend events, and a an important one for local farmers.

Roger Williams Food Truck Fridays The Carousel campus at Roger Wiliams Park Zoo has a lot of open space and rolling hills shaded by trees, the perfect spot to grab dinner from a food truck and listen to music and entertainment during the park’s Food Truck Fridays event. The outdoor food truck festival at Carousel Village starts at 5 pm. Attendance is free, just pay for what you eat and drink from an ever changing rotation of more than 15 food trucks each week.

If you miss this one, don’t worry. They’re going on every Friday till the fall.

Norwood branch Library Building Club: Join other kids to create with Legos and Manga-tiles every Friday afternoon at the Norwood Branch.

Warwick Weekend Events Saturday:

Pawtuxet Rangers Meat Raffle Support the Pawtuxet Rangers & their 250th anniversary during their Meat Raffle Fundraiser in historic Pawtuxet Village from 1 to 4 p.m. on Saturday. Take pictures with Ranger members in their uniform. Sing along to a sea shanty or two.   There will be a wide variety of prizes.

The Rangers lead the annual Gaspee Days Parade each year. Their mission is perpetuating the history of Pawtuxet Village, Warwick, Cranston, the State of Rhode Island and the United States. The Pawtuxet Rangers are among the most active of Rhode Island’s militia groups and are one of only four fife and drum corps in the United States that are part of an actual military organization. Today the Company has Militia including color guard, musket line and artillery and a Fife & Drum corps.

WCFA Contra Dance Contra dancing to LIVE MUSIC is social, fun and easy! Come join the fun on Sept. 21st at Warwick Center for the Arts 7 p.m. sharp (short basics session 6:45 pm) Live music by “The Third Degree” (Cecily Mills on cello, Anika Thomas on fiddle and Isaiah Gardham on guitar) w/Rhode Island’s own: Don Heinold, calling

No need to bring a partner, and no experience is needed to have a fantastic time!!

Conimicut Village Farmers MarketThis Saturday, 9 a.m.-12 p.m., the Conimicut Village Farmer’s Market continues. The Conimicut Village Farmers Market at 955 West Shore Road. The market runs every Saturday until Sept. 28.

Pilgrim Boys Hockey Car WashThe Pilgrim High School Boys Hockey team will be having a car wash Saturday, 9 a.m. till 2 p.m. at Pilgrim Senior Center. $5 per car, $10 per truck.  It’s going to be a beautiful day to get your car washed and say hello to the team! We appreciate the support for these student athletes!

RISPCA Paws in the Park Rhode Island SPCA’s annual dog walk will be held on Sat., Sept. 14, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Goddard Memorial State Park at 1095 Ives Rd., Warwick, RI 02818. This family friendly dog walk attracts hundreds of pet owners and their dogs each year. Activities include a dog walk through scenic Goddard Park, a vendor marketplace, food trucks, canine costume contest, raffle baskets, kids’ activities, and much, much more! Proclamation Paintyer Pet Night fundraiser We’ll be hosting our second Paintyer Pet Event at Proclamation Brewery, 298 Kilvert St, Warwick, R 3-6 p.m. to benefit Rhode Home Rescue.

If you have a pet that you just can’t get enough of, then this is the event for you. Submit a photo of your pet when you buy tickets. They draw it on a paint-by-number style canvas. You show up and paint. Tickets are $60 per person. Includes canvas, supplies, and a drink token (gratuity is not included.) A portion of each ticket goes to Rhode Home Rescue. Click here for tickets
