WARWICK, RI — This Warwick Weekend is capped with musically diverting events, with a local band festival at Toll Gate High Saturday and the Island Farm Ceili Band at Warwick Public Library Sunday.

Toll Gate Music Festival Saturday, March 4

If you can’t make it to the music festival Saturday, there is a Venmo scan link for you to donate to the food bank instead.

The Toll Gate Music Festival starts off the Warwick Weekend this Saturday, March 4 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Toll Gate High School Auditorium, 575 Centerville Road, featuring performances by a number of local bands, including The Friendly Mutton Chops, Vertigo, Plastyc Peachez Inc, The Proles, and Toll Gate’s own The Graveyard Shift, as announced in the Toll Gate Tribune.

Organized by Ethan Poole for his senior project, the event will benefiting the RI Community Food Bank. Admission is $5 (cash or Venmo accepted), and donations of non-perishable food items and monetary donations will also be gratefully accepted.

“Please come by to support this cause, I promise it will be a great time!” Poole wrote in the Tribune.

Warwick Weekend: WCFA Exhibit, Pulp Fiction, Saturday, March 4

This Warwick Weekend, you can get an early glimpse at the paper, prints, collage & altered books created by 25 artists in the Warwick Center for the Arts exhibit opening March 4 , 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. The exhibit runs through April 22 (gallery hours are 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. Wednesday – Saturday). An opening reception will be held Thursday, March 9, 6 – 7:30 p.m.

Warwick Weekend: Oil painting class, WCFA, Saturday, March 4

The Warwick Center for the Arts is offering a course to teach the fundamentals of oil painting in a friendly, easy-to-understand, step-by-step approach. You’ll learn about materials, set-up, color mixing, paint application, composition and more. You’ll be guided through completing a beautiful painting in class and you’ll leave with the knowledge to paint on your own.
The one-day workshop will be held on Saturday, March 4, from noon to 4 p.m. at 3259 Post Road in Warwick. Fee is $70/50 for members, plus a $15 supply fee. For more info, visit warwickcfa.org or call (401) 737-0010.

Warwick Weekend: Island Farm Ceili Band at Warwick Public Library, Sunday, March 5

Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day early with a concert by the Island Farm Ceili Band on Sunday, March 5 at 2 p.m. in the Warwick Public Library’s Large Meeting Room at 600 Sandy Lane.

The band will present an exciting performance of traditional Celtic tunes and songs inspired by Celtic music. The Island Farm Ceili Band features Don Lurgio on banjo, fiddle, and bouzouki; Matt Cook on Uilleann pipes, flute and whistle; Bob Drouin on fiddle and bouzouki; and Gary Palmer on guitar.

The event is free and open to all.
