Bishop Hendricken (20-1) headed into the Division 1 playoffs following two wins, a 1-0 blanking of North Kingstown on May 25 and an 8-7 non-conference victory at home over Xaverian Brothers on May 28. Seniors Alex Clemmy and Matt Jarmie teamed up for the shutout over the Skippers (16-6), who finished 3rd in the division. Three Hendricken pitchers combined for 123 pitches in the win over Xaverian Brothers.
Toll Gate kept pace with North Kingstown on May 22, even leading by a run heading into the seventh, but couldn’t hold off the Skippers offense, which tacked on 5 runs in the last two innings to take the win.
