Warwick, RI – Warwick Police report they’ve identified a New Bedford man as the person who robbed the Santander Bank on Post Rd in Warwick Aug. 1.

Warwick Police  say Patrick Silva, 34, of New Bedford, MA is the man responsible for the robbery. Silva was arrested last Thursday in Massachusetts on an unrelated charge and is in custody there.

Police believe Silva is the man who entered the Santander Bank on Post Rd on Aug. 1  just after noon and demanded money from a teller. He did not mention or show a weapon, or hand the teller a note, the RI Most Wanted website noted.

He left the bank with an undetermined amount of cash.

The local charges against Silva are pending as the investigation continues between the Warwick Police, the RI Attorney General’s office and the Massachusetts District Attorney, according to Warwick Police.
