Warwick, RI –Â Warwick North girls softball has gone undefeated, winning the Rhode Island District 3 championship, the State Championship and Eastern Regional Championship, and they need public support for a crack at the 2015 Softball Little League World Series (LLWS), representing the eastern region.
This year the LLWS takes place in Portland, OR, and the team has posted a GoFundme.com page to raise the $20,000 they’ll need to travel for the competition on Aug. 11 – 20.
“These 13 girls have worked countless hours preparing and working as a team for this opportunity. We believe after all this hard work and dedication, the girls deserve the best experience including their parents/guardians,” the GoFundme.com pitch reads.
The team had raised $530 of their goal as of Friday, July 31, with a week left to make up the difference.
“We are asking for your support in making this dream a reality for our girls and their immediate family,” the page’s author, Kevin DeTroia, wrote.
