Wickford Barracks:Â Attempt at Alias Fails
 A Providence man with nothing to hide gave a false name at 1:33 a.m. Sept. 16 after the car he was riding in was stopped on Rte. 117 in Warwick, resulting in his arrest for obstructing an officer.
The car had a broken tail light, said Capt. William Jamieson, Division “B” Commander, but there were no warrants against the man or the passenger, ultimately identified as Melvin Rosario, age 32, of 47 Sackett Street, Providence.
After a little checking, the trooper confirmed Rosario’s actual identity, and arrested him, charging him with obstructing an officer. Rosario was transported to the Wickford Barracks for processing, and held overnight pending morning arraignment.
Detectives: Warwick man arrested for violating parole
Members of the Violent Fugitive Task Force arrested Gary Duarte, age 50, of 394 Sargent Street, Warwick, RI, on Sept. 18 on a Parole Board Warrant for Violation of Parole, State Police report.
Duarte was turned over to authorities at the Intake Service Center of the Adult Correctional Institutions in Cranston.
