Don’t forget, Apponaug drivers — Veterans Memorial Drive and Veterans Memorial Drive extension go two-way today, allowing this morning’s commuters to bypass village traffic running from Toll Gate and Centerville Roads to T.F. Green Airport, and vice-versa.
With Post Road East opened to two way traffic Wednesday, the RIDOT is turning to plans to do the same for Veterans Memorial Drive and Veterans Memorial Drive Extension Nov. 22, re-routing the main flow of traffic around Apponaug instead of directly through.
RIDOT will open the westbound section of the Veterans Memorial Drive Extension, the new roadway segment in Apponaug, in the early hours of Friday morning, and motorists should beware that Greenwich Avenue near Apponaug Four Corners will now be open to two-way traffic, Warwick Police report.
RIDOT is scheduled to open the westbound section of the Veterans Memorial Drive Extension, the new roadway segment in Apponaug, during the week of Oct. 11, the first step in establishing two-way traffic through the Apponaug Circulator project this fall.
