WARWICK, RI — This afternoon, the 100 students who walked out of school before their final class Dec. 21 to protest Warwick Public Schools’ Special Education practices will serve a three-hour detention penalty students and teachers say is excessive, a claim Superintendent Phil Thornton disputes.

Warwick, RI — The Warwick City Council meets tonight in Council Chambers, City Hall at 3275 Post Road, starting with sub-committee meetings at 5 p.m., then full session at 7 p.m., including second-passage consideration of abandonment of a portion of Soule Street, then re-zoning the western part of Lambert Lind Highway and Natick Road and also re-zoning a lot at 91 Cononchet Ave.
