Officer Richard Odell was patrolling on Toll Gate Road March 4 at 9 p.m. near the intersection of Centerville Road, in the rotary, when he saw a blue Nissan Altima enter the rotary without slowing, yielding and switched lanes without a signal, all of which prompted the officer to stop it, eventually arresting the driver on a DUI charge.
The City Council unanimously voted Monday to re-install stop signs at the rotary intersection of Namquid Drive and Spring Green Road, where yield signs have held sway for a year, acting on the pleas of worried neighbors armed with stories of serious crashes, near misses and precarious driveway exits.
