The Warwick City Council unanimously approved changes to the city’s concealed carry permit process Monday night, adding to the description of “self-defense” when the city’s Public Safety Committee determines need in reviewing applications.

The Warwick City Council meets Monday, April 6, 7 p.m. to vote on first passage of seven resolutions, including one setting less stringent concealed carry permit rules, right after they hear from Anthony Ferrucci, Finance Director of the Warwick School Department on the status of the school district’s finances.
Warwick, RI — Councilwoman Camille Vella-Wilkinson has drafted an ordinance overhauling the city’s concealed carry permit policy to “…ensure a timely, fair and consistent permit process” and establishing “self defense” as the prime criteria for determining need, and it’s up for the first of two votes required to make it law on April 6.
