PROVIDENCE, RI – Secretary of State Gregg M. Amore and the RI Department of State Elections Division are reminding eligible voters of important dates and deadlines for the special elections Nov. 7.

There are special elections Nov. 7 for Congressional District 1, State Senate District 1, and local referenda questions on Nov. 7, 2023.

The deadline to request a mail ballot for these elections is October 17, 2023. Mail ballot applications can be completed online or by submitting a paper form. Mail ballots must be returned by 8 p.m. on Election Day. Voters who are mailing in their ballot should do so at least seven days prior to Election Day. Mail ballots can also be returned to any polling place or open official elections drop box.

Early voting for the November 7, 2023 special elections will take place starting October 18 through November 6. Early voting hours vary by city/town; voters can see all early voting locations and hours online here.

On November 7, 2023, polling places will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Voters can find their polling place by looking up their Voter Record here.
