Police Log: Warwick Arrests Sept. 1 – 30

WARWICK, RI — The WPD Police log’s Warwick arrests Sept.  1 – 30 included charges for DUI, Felony assault, possession of a stolen vehicle, shoplifting, domestic violence, larceny and illegal drug possession.

Warwick Police made 160 arrests in April 2023.

Below are the  basic details of specific  arrests, followed by the numbers of arrests for each charge. A full account of individuals arrested and dates of arrest for charges are available in the Warwick Police arrest log.

Possession of a Stolen Vehicle

  • On Sept. 2 at 11:04 a.m., Warwick Police arrested Neil E. Cronin, 53, of 89 Cushing Road, Warwick, charging him with possession of a stolen vehicle, obtaining property by fales pretenses, and conspiracy. He was arraigned on the charges Sept. 26 and scheduled for court screenings on Nov. 20 and Jan. 3. He was released on $5,000 personal recognizance.
  • On Sept. 15 at 2:32 a.m., Warwick Police arrested Joshua Robeson, 28, of  255 Charles St., Bridgeport, CT, charging him with possession of a stolen vehicle, first offense. He was arraigned in Third District Court that day and released on 1,000 surety bond.

Felony Assault

  • On Sept. 3, Warwick Police arrested John P. Duffy, 59, of 53 Port Circle, Warwick charging him with felony assault. He was arraigned on the charge in Third District Court on Sept. 26, and scheduled for hearings on Nov. 27 and Jan. 3, 2024.
  • On Sept. 5, Warwick Police arrested Shawn D. Freelove, 43, of 54 River St., West Warwick, RI, charging him with felony assault. He was arraigned on the charge in Third District Court Sept. 7, scheduled for a court screening Dec. 6 and released on a $3,000 surety bond with a non-domestic no-contact order.
