WARWICK, RI — Warwick Police arrested an admitted serial vodka shoplifter at Burger King, 1748 Post Road after his theft of a Tasmanian Vodka bottle from Airport Liquors, 1800 Airport Road.

According to the report of Officer Kyle Fitzsimmons, he wascalled to the store for a report of shoplifting. As he drove to the area, dispatch advised him that the thief had been spotted running toward Burger King. Fitzsimmons arrived in the area and was pointed to the Burger King at 1748 Post Road by several bystanders. Inside the restaurant, customers reported seeing a man enter and head for the restroom.

Fitzsimmons attempted to enter, but the man had locked the restroom door. The officer waited and the man eventually exited, allowing him to detain and search him.

The search turned up a bottle of Tasmania vodka tucked into the man’s bluejeans at his waist. Fitzsimmons identified him as Logan Waterhouse, 40, of 20 Jefferson Blvd., Apt. 255, Warwick, RI.

The Airport Liquors clerk said Waterhouse, whom he recognized from previous shoplifting thefts, entered the store and left with something tucked into his jeans. The clerk followed him outside and called police, according to the report.

The clerk was brought to the Burger King to identify Waterhouse, which he did, and Fitzsimmons arrested him for shoplifting. The Airport Liquors owner later provided a report of seven previous thefts of Tasmanian vodka, $24.99, by Waterhouse from Nov. 10 till Dec. 22 2023.

When confronted with the list, Waterhouse admitted to the previous thefts, according to Fitzsimmons’ report.

Fitzsimmons transported Waterhouse to Warwick Police Headquarters, 99 Veterans Memorial Drive, and charged him with one count of shoplifting.

He was issued a summons to appear on the charge Jan. 30 in Third District Court.
