CRANSTON, RI — The RI Hospitality Association (RIHA) has appointed Aaron Messina to its 2022 Board of Directors.

Messina, a West Warwick resident, currently serves as the area director of sales and marketing for TPG Hotels and Resorts, a national operator of hospitality assets, from focused-service hotels and lifestyle/resort properties, to upscale, luxury hotels and nautically based hospitality assets.

Messina oversees six hotels in Rhode Island: The Renaissance Providence Downtown Hotel, Residence Inn by Providence Marriott Downtown, Hilton Providence, Hilton Garden Inn Providence, Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Providence Airport Warwick, and Holiday Inn South Kingstown, an IHG Hotel.

Messina, a native of New Haven, CT, graduated from Johnson & Wales University in 2004 and joined TPG Hotels and Resorts as an assistant banquet manager at the Westin in Providence, RI. In 2007, he helped oversee the opening of Renaissance Providence Downtown Hotel as the property’s director of event operations. In 2010, he took over Rhodes on the Pawtuxet, serving as general manager for Russell Morin Catering & Events and eventually as vice president of sales and marketing. In 2017, he rejoined TPG Hotels and Resorts as its regional director of operations.
