WARWICK, RI — RIDOT warns local commuters of lane closures in the city on Warwick Avenue and Rte. 2 throughout the week.

The agency noted the following details on the lane closures:

  • Warwick: Warwick Ave., over Buckeye Brook near Sandy Ln., alternating lane closures for stormwater work, Mon.-Fri., 6 a.m.-3:30 p.m.
  • Warwick: Rte. 2, at the I-295 South intersection, alternating lane closures for electrical work and survey work, Mon.-Wed., 7 a.m.-3 p.m.

The Buckeye Brook work is part of a $598,500 project replacing two 1990s era stormwater management holding basins discharging into the brook, north of the Knights of Columbus Hall on Sandy Lane and Warwick Ave. During construction, traffic on Old Warwick Avenue will be detoured via Warwick Avenue, but will remain open for pedestrian traffic. Also, intermittent weekday daytime lane closures are possible on Warwick Avenue in the project area. The project is expected to be finished by mid-November.
