WARWICK, RI ā€”Ā RI Trooper Log arrestsĀ  Feb. 19 – 24 involving Warwick included charges for obtaining money under false pretenses, wrong way driving and DUI, leaving the scene of a crash and missing court hearings on various previous charges.

Here are the basics on those arrests:

Money under false pretenses At 10:30 p.m. Feb. 19, troopers arrested Michael Costa, 38, of 87 Cedar Ave. Apt. #6, East Providence RI, for 1) Providence Superior Court Full Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear for Restitution Review on the original charge of Obtaining Money Under False Pretenses originating out of the East Providence Police Department 2) Providence Superior Court Full Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear for Restitution Review on the original charge of Forgery and Counterfeiting originating out of the Cranston Police Department 3) Providence Superior Court Full Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear for Restitution Review on the original charge of Unlawful Breaking and Entering originating out of the East Providence Police Department.

The arrest was a result of a motor vehicle stop on Route 95 in the City of Warwick. The subject was transported to the Wickford Barracks, processed and transported to the Adult Correctional Institute ā€“ Men’s Intake Center.

Wrong way driver, DUI At 12:56 a.m. Feb. 19, troopers arrested Adrian Phillips, 26, of 55 Walnut St., Waltham MA, for 1) Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicating Liquor and or Drugs ā€“ 1st Offense, BAC Unknown 2) Reckless Driving 3) Refusal to Submit to a Chemical Test.

The arrest was a result of a wrong way driver and subsequent motor vehicle stop on Route 95 in the City of Warwick. The subject was transported to the Wickford Barracks, processed, and held overnight pending morning arraignment.

Leaving a crash At 5:50 p.m. Feb. 20, troopers took Darshya Silva Parker, 30, of 139 Babcock St., Providence, Rhode Island into custody for an Affidavit and Arrest Warrant on the original charge of Leaving the Scene of an Accident originating out of the State Police Lincoln Woods Barracks.

The arrest was the result of members from the Warwick Police Department arresting Silva. Silva was transported to Lincoln Woods Barracks where she was processed, arraigned by Justice of the Peace, and released with a future Sixth District Court date.

Missed court, disorderly conduct At 2:33 p.m., troopers arrested John V. Fargnoli III, 51, of 9 Farwell St., Cranston, Rhode Island, for 1) Third District Court Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear for Status Conference on the original charge of Disorderly Conduct, originating out of the Cranston Police Department and 2) Third District Court Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear for Status Conference on the original charge of Disorderly Conduct, originating out of the Warwick Police Department.

The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Harris Avenue in the City of Providence. The subject was transported to State Police Headquarters, processed, and later turned over to the Adult Correctional Institute-Men’s Intake Center.

Missed court, B&E charge At 9:12 a.m. Feb. 22, troopers arrested William Sumner, 32, of 105 Hedley Ave., Central Falls, Rhode Island for a Providence Superior Court Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear for Pretrial Conference on the original charge of Domestic Violence ā€“ Unlawful Breaking and Entering originating out of the Central Falls Police Department.

Arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Jefferson Boulevard in the City of Warwick. Mr. Sumner was transported to the Wickford Barracks, where he was processed and later transported to Providence Superior Court.

Missed court, obstructing officer At 11:06 p.m. Feb. 23, troopers arrested, Lord Syncere, 53, of 7 Paul Ave., Apt #8, West Haven, Connecticut for 1.) Sixth Division District Court Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear for Ability to Pay on the charge of Obstructing Police Officer originating out of the Woonsocket Police Department and 2.) Sixth Division District Court Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear for Technical Violation on Probation on the charge of Obstructing Police Officer originating out of the Woonsocket Police Department. Arrest was the result of motor vehicle stop on Route 95 in the City of Warwick. Mr. Syncere was transported to the Wickford Barracks, where he was processed and later turned over to the Adult Correctional Institution – Men’s Intake Service Center.

Toll Gate Road Stop, suspended license At 1:30 p. m. Feb. 23, troopers arrested Jona Moretti, 39, of 29 Lexington Ave., West Warwick, Rhode Island on a 1.) Third District Court Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear for Arraignment on the original charge of Driving with a Suspended License, originating out of the State Police Lincoln Woods Barracks and 2.) Sixth District Court Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear for Arraignment on the original charge of Driving with a Suspended License, originating out of the West Warwick Police Department.

The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Tollgate Road in the City of Warwick. Ms. Moretti was transported to the State Police Hope Valley Barracks, processed, and transported to the Women’s Intake Facility.

East Avenue Stop, obstructing officer At 10 a.m., troopers arrested Francisco Yofred De Jesus, 27, of 570 Park Ave., Yonkers, New York for 1) Obstructing an Officer in the Execution of Duty.

The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on East Avenue in the City of Warwick. Yofred De Jesus was transported to the Lincoln Woods Barracks, processed, and later transported to Third Division District Court for arraignment.
