WARWICK, RI — RI Trooper Log arrests in and near Warwick from Jan. 16 through Jan. 18  included DUI charges and a local man among four arrested in a marijuana dealing bust involving men in four towns.

Here are the available details of those arrests:

Missed court, suspended license charge At 9:05 a.m. Jan. 16, troopers arrested Charles A. Chace II, 58, of 75 Division Road, West Greenwich, Rhode Island, on a Third Division District Court Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear for Cost Review for Driving with a Suspended License originating from the Warwick Police Department.

The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Route 95 in the City of Warwick. The subject was transported to the Wickford Barracks for processing and later turned over to Third Division District Court for arraignment. At 5:00 PM, Troopers arrested Jeffrey Durrell, age 40, of 480 South County Trail Trailer 1-27, Exeter, Rhode Island, on a Third Division District Court Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear for Cost Review for Driving with a Suspended License originating from the West Greenwich Police Department. The subject was processed and turned over to the Adult Correctional Institution Men’s Intake Center.

Missed court on driving car without consent charge At 10:34 a.m. Jan. 16, troopers arrested John Manfredi, 42 of 19 Sweetbriar St., Providence, RI for a Superior Court Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear for Restitution on the original charge of Driving a Motor Vehicle without Consent of the Owner.

The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Rte. 95 in the City of Warwick. The subject was transported to the barracks to be processed and later transported to Third Division District Court.

Warwick man arrested in marijuana dealing bust On Jan. 16, 2020, members of the Rhode Island State Police, including the Intelligence Unit, the High-Intensity Drug Trafficking Area Task Force (HIDTA), the Violent Fugitive Task Force (VFTF), and the FBI Safe Streets Task Force, arrested Jordon Leighty, 37, of 37 Norfolk Road, Warwick, Rhode Island, for: 1) Possession with Intent to Deliver a Schedule I Controlled Substance – Marijuana; 2) Two counts of Possession of Marijuana 1 to 5 Kilos; 3) Possession with Intent to Deliver a Schedule I Controlled Substance – Butane Honey Oil (BHO); and 4) Controlled Substance Conspiracy.

RI State Police arrested Leighty and three others, charging them all with conspiracy to distribute marijuana. Leighty was one of two also charged with illegal marijuana possession.

Leighty was arraigned by a Justice of the Peace at State Police Headquarters and ordered held without bail.

DUI arrest, Post Road At 12:23 a.m. Jan. 17, troopers arrested Martin Orokos, 57, of 77 Webb Ave., Warwick, Rhode Island, for 1.) Driving under the influence of intoxicating liquor and/or drugs B.A.C. unknown – First offense; and 2.) Refusal to submit to a chemical test.

This arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Post Road in the City of Warwick. The subject was processed at the Lincoln Woods Barracks, arraigned and then released into the custody of a responsible adult.

DUI arrest, bail violation At 2:27 a.m., Jan. 17 troopers arrested Effrain Conception, 19, of 383 Manchester St., West Warwick, Rhode Island, for 1.) Driving under the influence of intoxicating liquor and/or drugs B.A.C. unknown – First offense; and 2.) Refusal to submit to a chemical test.

The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Rte. 95 in Warwick. Conception was processed at the Lincoln Woods Barracks, and held overnight pending morning arraignment where he was presented a bail violator.
