Warwick, RI – State Police activity in and involving Warwick this week involved traffic stops that snared men wanted for larceny and for assault, respectively, as well as a hit & run arrest following a crash on Rte. 95.

Traffic stop catches suspended license charge court scofflaw At 9:30 a.m. May 16, troopers arrested Anthony Oliveira, 27, of 10 West Drive, Apt. 2B, Providence, RI on a Sixth District Court Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear for Arraignment on the original charge of Driving with a Suspended License originating out of the East Providence Police Department.

The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Rte. 95 North in Warwick. Oliveira was transported to the Lincoln Woods Barracks where he was processed and later turned over to Sixth District Court.

Man arrested for hit & run after Rte. 95 crash At 5:19 p.m. May 17, troopers arrested William Smith, 39, of 59 Timberline Road, Warwick, Rhode Island, for Leaving the Scene of an Accident Resulting in Damage to a Vehicle.

The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle crash investigation on Rte. 95 in Warwick. Smith was transported to the Wickford Barracks where he was processed, arraigned by the Justice of the Peace, and released.

Traffic stop nabs man wanted for larceny At 6:45 a.m. May 18, troopers arrested Dinildo Spencer, 22, of 25 Duncan Ave. Apartment #2, Providence, Rhode Island, on an Affidavit & Arrest Warrant for Larceny originating from the Pawtucket Police Department.

The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Rte. 95 in Warwick. Spencer was transported to the Wickford Barracks, processed and turned over to the Pawtucket Police Department.

Traffic stop catches man wanted for assault At 2:39 p.m. May 19, troopers arrested Jose Rohena, 27, of 3767 Post Road Warwick, Rhode Island for an Affidavit and Arrest Warrant originating out of the Providence Police Department on the original charge of Simple Assault.

The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Route 95 South in the City of Warwick. Rohena was transported to the State Police Lincoln Woods Barracks where he was processed, then turned over to the Providence Police Department.
