RI Trooper Log: Three Warwick St. Patrick’s DUI Arrests

RI Trooper Log arrests. The Rhode Island State Police are stationed in several barracks throughout Rhode Island.

Editor’s notes: The following RI arrests recorded in the RI Trooper Log were reported by the RI State Police on their website. An arrest reflects charges against an individual, and does not indicate guilt or innocence. Also, this report has been amended to delete the name of an arrestee whose charges have since been dismissed.

RI Trooper Log arrests in Rhode Island March 10 through March 18 involved charges for a missed hearing on a felony domestic assault charge and three for DUI late St. Patrick’s Day and the following morning.

Here are the basics on those RI State Police arrests:

Missed court, Felony Domestic Assault On March 12 at 10:45 a.m., troopers arrested Edward Coulter, 40, of 678 Chalkstone Ave., Providence, Rhode Island on a Kent County Superior Court Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear for Sentencing on a Technical Violation, on the original charge of Felony Domestic Assault, originating out of the Warwick Police Department. The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Lonsdale Avenue in the City of Pawtucket. Coulter was processed at the Lincoln Woods Barracks and transported to the Adult Correctional Institution – Men’s Intake Center.

Traffic stop, domestic violence warrant At 10:04 p.m. March 17, troopers arrested Charles Simas, 43, of 215 Providence St., West Warwick, Rhode Island for a Superior Court Bench Warrant for Hold Without Bail / Technical Violation Hearing for the original charge of Domestic Violence – Criminal V originating out of the Cranston Police Department. The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop in the Town of West Warwick. Simas was transported to the Hope Valley Barracks, processed, and later transported to the Adult Correctional Institution – Men’s Intake Center.

Rte. 95 stop, DUI At 11:31 p.m. March 17, troopers arrested a Warwick woman for Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicating Liquor – BAC Unknown – 1st Offense.

The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Route 95 South. The subject was transported to the BAT Mobile, processed and misdemeanor released into the custody of a responsible adult.

Rte. 37 crash, DUI arrest At 11:40 p.m. March 17, troopers arrested Megan Igoe, 28, of 26 Sandlewood Ave., Warwick, Rhode Island, for 1.) Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicating Liquor and/or Drugs BAC Unknown – First offense, and 2.) Chemical Test Refusal – First Offense.

This arrest was the result of a motor vehicle accident investigation on Rte. 37 East, Warwick. Igoe was processed at the Lincoln Woods Barracks, arraigned, and released into the custody of a responsible adult.

Rte. 95 stop, DUI arrest At 2:08 a.m. March 18, troopers arrested Devin Carroll, 29, of 43 Modena Ave., Providence, Rhode Island for 1.) Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicating Liquor and or Drugs-B.A.C .10-.15 (Phase I-.127%, Phase II-.121%).

The arrest was the result of a traffic stop on Rte. 95 in Warwick. Carroll was transported to Operation Blue Riptide B.A.T Mobile, where he was processed, and later misdemeanor released into the custody of a responsible adult.
