RI Trooper Log: Stolen Pistol, Rte. 95 DUIs

Editor’s note: The following RI arrests recorded in the RI Trooper Log were reported by the RI State Police on their website. An arrest reflects charges against an individual, and does not indicate guilt or innocence.

RI Trooper Log arrests  March 23 through April 1 involved DUI arrests on Rte. 95 in the Warwick, possession of a stolen pistol, and a protection order violation.

Here are the basics on those RI State Police arrests:

Rte. 95 Warwick stop, Protection order violation At 3:25 a.m. March 27, troopers arrested Johnathan DeSimone, 26, of 23 Manchester St., West Warwick, Rhode Island for Violation of Third District Court Protection Order – 2nd Offense.

The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Rte. 95 in Warwick. DeSimone was processed at the Wickford Barracks, held overnight pending morning arraignment at Third District Court, where he will be presented as a Probation Violator.

Missed Court, DUI charge At 2:53 p.m. March 28, troopers arrested Kevin LaFlamme, 29, of 115 New York Ave., Warwick, RI on a Third Division District Court Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear For Pretrial Conference (HWOB) on the original charge of Driving Under the Influence – B.A.C. Unknown, originating out of the Warwick Police Department.

The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Quaker Lane in West Warwick. Mr. LaFlamme was transported to the Hope Valley Barracks where he was processed and later transported to the Adult Correctional Institute Men’s Intake Center pending his appearance at Third District Court.

DUI, Rte. 95 Warwick At 8:50 p.m. March 29, troopers arrested John Dias, 30, of 154 Tingley St., Warwick, RI, for 1.) Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicating Liquor and/or Drugs B.A.C Unknown – First Offense and 2.) Refusal to Submit to a Chemical Test.

The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Rte. 95, in Warwick. Dias was processed at the Lincoln Woods Barracks and held overnight pending morning arraignment where he will be presented as a bail violator.

Rte. 95 Warwick stop, stolen pistol At 11:24 p.m. March 30, troopers arrested David M. Preston, 24, of 38 Summer St., Apt. 4, Norwich, Connecticut, for 1.) License or Permit Required for Carrying a Pistol, 2.) Possession of a Firearm by Certain Person Prohibited, 3.) Possession of a Stolen Firearm, and 4.) Obstructing a Police Officer in the Execution of Duty.

The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Rte. 95 in Warwick. Preston was transported to the Wickford Barracks where he was processed, arraigned by a Justice of the Peace and released with a future court date to appear.

Missed court, illegal drugs At 12:19 p.m. March 30, troopers arrested Joshua Perkins, of 365 Williams St., Providence, Rhode Island for a Providence Superior Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear for Arraignment on the original charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance – Schedule I-V originating out of the Smithfield Police Department.

The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Rte. 95 in Warwick. Perkins was transported to State Police Wickford Barracks where he was processed then turned over to the Superior Court.

Rte. 1 NK stop, DUI At 2:10 a.m. April 1, Troopers arrested Joseph Withrow, 30, of 75 Adams St., Warwick, Rhode Island for 1) Driving Under the Influence – First Offense – B.A.C. Unknown and 2) Refusal to Submit to a Chemical Test.

The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Rte. 1 in North Kingstown. Withrow was transported to State Police Wickford Barracks where he was processed then arraigned by the Justice of the Peace with a future Third District Court date.
