Warwick, RI – This week’s Rhode Island State Police activity in and nearby Warwick involved arrests for court scofflaws, a DUI charge and warrants for shoplifting and larceny:
Traffic stop nabs court scofflaw on license violation On Wednesday Aug. 31 at 12:53 a.m., troopers arrested Daniel Doucett, 27, of 27 Waterman Ave., Cranston, on a Third Division District Court Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear for Payment Review on the original charge of Driving Without a License out of the Cranston Police Department.
The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Post Road in the City of Warwick. Doucett was transported to the Wickford Barracks, processed, and later turned over to the Adult Correctional Institution – Men’s Intake.
License violation scofflaw arrested at traffic stop At 11:58 a.m. Aug. 30, troopers arrested Jona Moretti, 31, of 36 Crawford St., 1st Floor, West Warwick, RI, for a Fourth District Court Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear for Pre-trial Conference on the original charge of Driving without a License out of the South Kingstown Police Department.
The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Archambault Avenue in West Warwick. Moretti was transported to the Wickford Barracks, processed, and later turned over to Fourth District Court.
DUI arrest on Warwick Neck Avenue At 11:16 p.m. Aug. 29, troopers arrested James Wilson, 38, of 1951 Elmwood Ave., Warwick, RI for 1.) Driving Under the Influence of Liquor and / or Drugs – First Offense – B.A.C. Unknown, and 2.) Refusal to Submit to a Chemical Test.
The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Warwick Neck Avenue in the City of Warwick. Wilson was transported to the Wickford Barracks, processed, and later arraigned by a Justice of the Peace, and released to a responsible adult.
Warwick man arrested for violating no-contact order On Aug. 31, at 9:30 a.m., members of the Violent Fugitive Task Force arrested Richard Salvadore-Roderick, 33, of 36 Spofford Avenue, Warwick, Rhode Island, on a Cranston Police Affidavit and Arrest Warrant for Violation of a No-Contact Order 3rd Offense.
Court scofflaw arrested at traffic stop At 4:46 p.m. Sept. 2, troopers arrested Richard Petersen, 51, of 57 Douglas St., West Warwick, RI for a Third District Court Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear / Pay on the original charge of Driving with a Suspended License originating out of the West Warwick Police Department.
The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Washington Street in the Town of West Warwick. The subject was transported to the Hope Valley Barracks, processed, arraigned by a Justice of the Peace and released.
Traffic stop yields arrest on warrants for shoplifting, larceny On Thursday Sept. 1, at 11:45 a.m., troopers arrested Michael Morelli, 42, of 40 Bassett St. Warwick, Rhode Island for a 1.) Third District Court Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear For The Ability to Pay on the original charge of misdemeanor shoplifting originating out of West Warwick Police Department, 2.) Kent County Superior Court Bench Warrant for AG Request Probation Violation on the original charge of receiving stolen goods over $1,500 originating out of the Warwick Police Department, 3.) Kent County Superior Court Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear Restitution Review on the original charge of receiving stolen goods over $1500 originating out of the Warwick Police Department.
The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Bald Hill Road in the City of Warwick. The subject was processed and transported to the Third District Court to be arraigned.
