Warwick, RI – State Police activity involving residents of and stops in Warwick this week resulted in arrests on charges ranging from a sex offender failing to alert police to his new address to arrests on DUI charges and for no-contact order violations.
Sex offender arrested for failing to update address On April 15 at 2:26 a.m., troopers arrested Dwayne Morgan, 55, of 708 Atwells Ave., Providence, RI for 1.) Affidavit / Arrest Warrant out of the Rhode Island State Police Headquarters-Major Crimes Unit for the charge of Sex Offender Address Change 2.) Family Court Reciprocal Body Attachment 3.) Superior Court Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear for Violation Hearing on the original charge of Shoplifting by the Warwick Police Department and 4.) Superior Court Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear for Violation Hearing on the original charge of Sex Offender Address Change that originating out of the Providence Police Department.
The arrest was the result of a barracks investigation, conducted by detectives from the Major Crimes Unit and troopers responding to the Providence Police Department. The Morgan was transported to the State Police Headquarters, processed, and held overnight pending morning arraignment.
Traffic stop on Rte. 95 ends in DUI arrest On Friday, April 14, at 1:54 a.m., troopers arrested Nicolas Underwood, 26, of 210 Smith Hill Road, Burrillville, Rhode Island, for Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicating Liquor and or Drugs / 1st Offense / B.A.C Unknown.
The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Rte. 95 in Warwick. The subject was transported to the Wickford Barracks, processed, arraigned by a Justice of the Peace, and released to a responsible adult.
DUI arrest made after Rte. 95 traffic stop On Friday, April 14, 2:30 a.m., troopers arrested Jamal Brito, 23, of 53 Rochambeau Ave., Providence, Rhode Island, for Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicating Liquor and or Drugs / 1st Offense / B.A.C Unknown.
The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Rte. 95 in Warwick. The subject was transported to the Wickford Barracks, processed, arraigned by a Justice of the Peace, and released to a responsible adult.
East Ave. traffic stop yields family court warrant arrest At 7:26 a.m. April 18, troopers arrested Christopher Vivier, 38, of 17 King Drive, Foster, RI, for a Family Court Bench Warrant-Reciprocal Body Attachment. The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on East Avenue in Warwick. Vivier was transported to the Wickford Barracks where he was processed, and turned over to Sixth District Court.
W.W. Man arrested on Rte. 95 for no contact order violation At 3:05 p.m. April 18, troopers arrested Thomas Curran, 38, of 85 Manchester Street Apartment #4, West Warwick, RI, for an Affidavit and Arrest Warrant for a Violation of a No Contact Order, originating out of the Coventry Police Department. The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Route 95 in the City of Warwick. The subject was transported to the Wickford Barracks where he was processed, and later turned over to the Coventry Police Department.
WPD Alerts Troopers to driver, DUI arrest follows On Tuesday, April 18 at 8:27 p.m., troopers arrested Edward Sass, 44, of 13 Thor Plaza Warwick, Rhode Island, for 1. DUI 1st Offense BAC Unknown and 2. Refusal to Submit to a Chemical Test.
The arrest was the result of troopers investigating a previous Drunk Driver “Be On the Look Out” (BOLO) that Warwick Police Department Broadcast leading them to a motor vehicle stop on Elmwood Avenue at 4th Avenue in Cranston. Sass was transported to the Lincoln Woods Barracks and was processed, arraigned, and released to a responsible adult.
Troopers arrest Man on Toll Gate Road for violating no contact order At 1:48 a.m., troopers arrested James Fritsche, 21, of 22 Leah St., Providence, RI for Violation of Domestic No Contact Order.
The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Toll Gate Road in the City of Warwick. Subject was transported to the State Police Hope Valley Barracks, processed and held overnight pending morning arraignment.
Woman arrested in Providence for missing court On Thursday, April 20, 9:45 a.m., troopers arrested Christine Whitehead, 40, of 19 Lottie Drive, Riverside, Rhode Island on a Third District Court Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear on the original charge of Vandalism originating out of the Warwick Police Department.
The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Branch Avenue, in the City of Providence. Whitehead was processed and later turned over to Third District Court.
