RI Trooper Log: Robbery, Larceny, Assault with Deadly Weapon

WARWICK, RI —  State Police arrests in the RI Trooper Log between Oct. 7 and Oct. 12 in and involving Warwick included charges for missing court, robbery, larceny and assault with a deadly weapon.

Here are the details of those arrests:

Traffic stop ends with arrest  for missed court dates At 1:33 a.m. Oct. 24, Troopers arrested Matthew J. Vangel, 37, of 400 Bald Hill Road Apt. 518, Warwick, Rhode Island, for 1.) Superior Court Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear for Cost Review on the original charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance Schedule I-V originating from the Cranston Police Department, and 2.) Superior Court Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear for Pre-Trial Conference on the original charge of Embezzlement and Fraudulent Conversion originating from the Warwick Police Department.

The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on East Main Street in the Town of West Warwick. The subject was transported to the Wickford Barracks for processing and later turned over to the Adult Correctional Institution Men’s Intake Center.

Troopers arrest man wanted for robbery On Oct. 24, members of the Violent Fugitive Task Force arrested Ezekiel Santiago, 18, of 9 Byron Boulevard, Warwick, Rhode Island, on an Affidavit and Arrest Warrant drafted by the Cranston Police Department for a charge of 1st Degree Robbery.

Santiago was turned over to the custody of the Cranston Police Department.

Troopers arrest man wanted for larceny, missed hearing At 8:30 p.m., Oct. 25, troopers arrested Diamonte Cole, 18, of 112 Academy Avenue Apt. 1, Providence, RI for 1) Family Court Juvenile Capias on the original charge of Penalties for Larceny, 2) Third Division District Court Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear for Arraignment on the original charge of Shoplifting originating out of the Warwick Police Department and 3) Sixth Division District Court Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear for Pre-Trial Conference on the original charge of Domestic Violence – Disorderly Conduct originating out of the Pawtucket Police Department.

The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Route 95 in the City of Warwick.

Troopers arrest man for assault with deadly weapon On Oct. 25, 2018, members of the Violent Fugitive Task Force arrested Christopher Britto, 25, of 15 Haverford Road, Warwick, Rhode Island, on a Federal Arrest Warrant for Assault with Deadly Weapon/Firearm/Assault Conspiracy.

Britto was turned over to Federal authorities.
