RI Trooper Log: Reckless Driving, DUI, Stolen Cars

RI Trooper Log arrests in Rhode Island Jan. 15 through Jan. 19 involved charges for assault,  reckless driving, stolen car possession, driving without consent, and DUI.

Here are the basics on those RI State Police arrests:

Rte. 146, Domestic Assault At 12:40 p.m. Jan. 15, Troopers arrested Anderson Garcia, 42, of 43 Sackett Street, Providence, Rhode Island for 1.) Sixth District Court Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear for Arraignment on the original charge of Driving Without a License, originating out of the Providence Police Department, 2.) Affidavit and Arrest Warrant for Domestic- Simple Assault, Domestic- Vandalism, and Domestic- Disorderly Conduct originating out of the Providence Police Department, and 3.) Affidavit and Arrest Warrant for Failure to Relinquish Telephone (Two Counts) originating out of the Providence Police Department.

The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Rte. 146 South in Providence. Garcia was transported to the Lincoln Woods Barracks where he was processed and later turned over to the Providence Police Department.

Domestic Simple Assault, Central Falls stop At 2 a.m. Jan. 15, troopers arrested Emmanuel Torres, 26, of 738 Pine St., Central Falls, Rhode Island on a 1.) Affidavit and Arrest Warrant for Domestic-Simple Assault/Battery and Domestic-Disorderly Conduct originating out of the Woonsocket Police Department.

The arrest was a result of a motor vehicle stop on Pine Street, in Central Falls. Torres was transported to the Lincoln Woods Barracks where he was processed and later turned over to the Woonsocket Police Department.

Providence stop, prohibited weapons At 10:32 a.m. Jan. 15, troopers arrested Nathan McKenney, 32, of 161 Warren Ave., Pawtucket, Rhode Island for 1) Weapons Other Than Firearms Prohibited. The arrest was a result of a motor vehicle stop on Bough Street in the City of Providence.

McKenney was transported to Headquarters where he was processed, presented as a probation violator, arraigned by a Justice of the Peace, and turned over to the Adult Correctional Facility – Men’s Intake.

Disorderly Conduct, Cranston Street Armory At 2:45 p.m. Jan. 16, troopers arrested Vincent Wendeloski, 60, of 380 Westminster St. Providence, Rhode Island for Disorderly Conduct. The arrest was the result of Troopers responding to the Cranston Street Armory for reports of a disorderly subject.

Wendeloski was transported to the Lincoln Woods Barracks, arraigned by the Justice of the Peace, and released.

Missed Court, Controlled Substance At 10:54 p.m. Jan. 16, troopers arrested Joseph Lineberger, 43, of 7 Cleveland Avenue, Cranston, Rhode Island on a 1) Providence County Superior Court Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear for a Technical Violation on the original charge of Possession of a Schedule I-V Controlled Substance, originating out of the Cranston Police Department.

The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Dean Street in the City of Providence. Lineberger was transported to the Lincoln Woods Barracks for processing and later turned over to the Adult Correctional Institution Men’s Intake Center.

Missed Court, Controlled Substance At 1:01 a.m. Jan. 16, troopers arrested Jhonnathan Santana-Gonzalez, 22, of 25 Canal St. Apt. #3, Woonsocket, Rhode Island on a 1.) Providence County Superior Court Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear for Pre-Arraignment Conference on the original charge of Possession of a Schedule I-V Controlled Substance, originating out of the State Police Lincoln Woods Barracks.

The arrest was a result of a motor vehicle stop on Route 95 in the City of Providence. Mr. Gonzalez was transported to the Lincoln Woods Barracks for processing and later transported to the Adult Correctional Institution Men’s Intake Center.

Reckless Driving On Jan. 16 at 11:30 p.m., troopers arrested Julio Rivera, 32, of 5 Remington St., West Warwick, Rhode Island for 1.) Affidavit Arrest Warrant from 10/06/22 on the charge of Reckless Driving/Eluding a Police Officer originating out of the Hope Valley Barracks.

The arrest was the result of the West Warwick Police Department advising they had Rivera in custody. Rivera was transported to the Hope Valley Barracks where he was processed and held overnight pending morning arraignment in Third District Court where he will be presented as a probation violator.

Driving Without Owner’s Consent At 1:08 a.m. Jan. 16, troopers arrested Gilbert Alvira, 22, of 16 Dresser St., Apartment 1, Providence, Rhode Island for 1) Driving without Consent of Owner and 2) Affidavit and Arrest Warrant for Domestic Vandalism and Disorderly Conduct originating out of the Pawtucket Police Department.

The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Plainfield Street in the City of Providence. Alvira was transported to Headquarters where he was processed and held pending morning arraignment, as recorded in the RI Trooper Log.

Missed Court, Suspended License At 3:29 a.m. Jan. 17, troopers arrested Jamal Lee, 29, of 5300 Post Road Apartment #363 East Greenwich, Rhode Island 02818 for a Third District Court Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear for Arraignment on the original charge of Driving with a Suspended/Revoked License originating out of the Warwick Police Department. The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Division Road in the Town of East Greenwich. Lee was processed at the Wickford Barracks and turned over to the Adult Correctional Institution Men’s Intake Center.

Missed Court, Shoplifting On Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2023, at 9:15 a.m., troopers arrested Brandon Mariscal, 28, of 61 Warren St., Pawtucket, Rhode Island, for 1.) Third Division District Court bench warrant for failure to appear for a Pre-trial Conference on the charge of Shoplifting originating out of the Warwick Police Department and 2.) Third Division District Court bench warrant for failure to appear for a Pre-trial Conference on the charge of Obstructing an Officer in the Execution of Duty originating out of the Warwick Police Department.

This arrest was the result of a motor vehicle accident investigation on Route 95, in the City of Providence. Mariscal was processed at the Lincoln Woods Barracks and later transported to the Third Division District Court.

Stolen Vehicle Possession On Tuesday, Jan. 17, at 10:15 p.m., troopers arrested Larenzo J. Lawrence, 18, of 293 Oxford St., First Floor, Providence, Rhode Island, for 1.) Possession of a Stolen Motor Vehicle and 2) Obstructing an Officer in the Execution of Duty.

This arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop and a foot pursuit on Prairie Avenue, in the City of Providence. Lawrence was processed at the Lincoln Woods Barracks and held overnight pending presentment/arraignment at the Sixth Division District Court.

Missed Court, Controlled Substance On Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2023, at 12:40 a.m., troopers arrested Stephanie Manning, 36, of 70 School St., Plainville, Massachusetts, on a Sixth Division District Court bench warrant for failure to appear for arraignment on the charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance – Schedule I-V originating out of the Pawtucket Police Department.

This arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Branch Avenue, in the City of Providence. Manning was processed at the Lincoln Woods Barracks and later turned over to the Adult Correctional Institution Women’s Intake Center.

Missed Court, Suspended License At 11:20 p.m. Jan. 18, Troopers arrested Leilani Francisco, 22, of 60 Cliffdale Ave., Cranston, RI for a Second Division District Court Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear for Arraignment on the original charge of Driving with a Suspended License – Third or Subsequent Offense. The arrest was the result Middletown Police Department contacting the Barracks to advise Francisco was in their custody. Francisco was arraigned by Justice of the Peace and released after posting the full bail amount, as recorded in the RI Trooper Log.

WG Rte. 95 Stop, DUI At 1:04 a.m. Jan. 18, troopers arrested Gary Tavares, 61, of 447 Switch Road, Richmond, RI 02898 for 1.) Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicating Liquor and/or Drugs B.A.C. Unknown – Second Offense and 2.) Refusal to Submit to a Chemical Test.

The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Route 95 South in the Town of West Greenwich. Tavares was transported to the State Police Hope Valley Barracks where he was processed, arraigned by a Justice of the Peace and released to the custody of a responsible adult.

Missed Court, Controlled Substance On Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2023, at 10:24 a.m., troopers arrested Catherine Draper, 38, of 32 Houston Ave., Newport, Rhode Island, on a Providence Superior Court bench warrant for failure to appear for a technical violation hearing on the charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance – Schedule I-V originating out of the Providence Police Department.

The arrest was the result of a barracks investigation. Draper was processed at the Lincoln Woods Barracks and later turned over to the Providence Superior Court.

Stolen Goods Possession On Thursday, Jan. 19, 2023, at 1:18 a.m., troopers arrested Johnathan Aguedo, 19, of 187 Academy Ave., Apartment #E, Providence, Rhode Island, for Possession of Stolen Goods.

The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Rte. 95 North, in the City of Providence. Aguedo was processed at the Lincoln Woods Barracks, arraigned, and then released pending a future court date.

DUI, Providence Stop On Thursday, Jan. 19, 2023, at 2:49 a.m., troopers arrested Jessica Sousa, 31, of 8 Eisenhower Avenue, Coventry, Rhode Island, for Driving under the influence of intoxicating liquor and/or drugs with a BAC .10 – .15 (Phase I BAC = .146, Phase II BAC = .150).

The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Rte. 95 South, in Providence. Sousa was processed at the Lincoln Woods Barracks and held overnight pending arraignment/presentment as a bail violator.

Reckless Driving At 6:30 a.m. Jan. 19, troopers arrested Alexander Salcedo, 20, of 1585 Elmwood Avenue, Cranston, Rhode Island for 1.) Reckless Driving. The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle accident and subsequent investigation on Route 4 in the Town of North Kingstown.

Salcedo was transported to the Wickford Barracks processed and later transported to Third Division District Court for arraignment, , as recorded in the RI Trooper Log.

Driving Without Owner’s Consent At 2:50 p.m. Jan. 19, troopers arrested Nelson Barbosa, 26, of 55 Shawmut Ave., Apt #3, Providence, RI for Affidavit and Arrest Warrant for: 1.) Driving Without Consent of Owner and 2.) Domestic Disorderly Conduct originating out of Pawtucket Police Department.

The arrest was a result of a motor vehicle stop on Nooseneck Hill Road in the Town of West Greenwich. The subject was transported to the Barracks where he was processed and later transported to the Pawtucket Police Department.

Domestic Assault On Thursday, Jan. 19, 2023, at 10:02 a.m., troopers arrested Shawn Glassey, 43, of 268 Kingstown Road, Narragansett, Rhode Island, for 1.) Domestic Assault by Strangulation (Two Counts), and 2.) Domestic Violence – Simple Assault/Battery (Three Counts).

The arrest was the result of a barracks investigation and Glassey being located in the City of East Providence. Glassey was processed at the Lincoln Woods Barracks and later arraigned at the Sixth Division District Court, , as recorded in the RI Trooper Log.
