COVENTRY, RI — RI Trooper Log reports Feb. 16 – 22 concerning Kent County communities, including EG, WW, WG and Coventry arrests involved charges for hit & run, illegal firearm possession, DUI, and child abuse.

Coventry arrests
Coventry stop, firearms charges At 9:31 a.m. Feb. 21, troopers arrested Joseph Belanger, 58, of 1143 Main Ave., Warwick, Rhode Island for 1.) Possession of Firearms by Certain Persons Prohibited, 2.) License or Permit Required for Carrying a Pistol, 3.) Domestic Prevention – Violation of a No Contact Order – 3rd / Subsequent Offense, 4.) Driving with a Suspended/Revoked License – 4th and Subsequent Offense.
The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Washington Street in the Town of Coventry. Belanger was transported to the Hope Valley Barracks, processed, and later transported to Third Division District Court for arraignment.
Coventry traffic stop, obstruction At 9:31 a.m., Feb. 21, troopers arrested Debra Tereshka, 57, of 680 Washington Street Apartment #1, Coventry, Rhode Island for Obstructing an Officer in Execution of Duty.
The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Washington Street in Coventry. Tereshka was transported to the Hope Valley Barracks, where she was processed and later transferred to Third Division District Court for arraignment.
Other Kent County arrests
Hit & Run, Johnston On Friday, Feb. 16 at 9:18 a.m., troopers arrested Zachary T. Wood, 25, of 215 Providence St., West Warwick, Rhode Island for 1) Duty to Stop in Accidents Resulting in Damage to Attended Vehicle. 2) Operating Motor Vehicle with a Suspended License – 3rd Offense.
The arrest was the result of Troopers responding to a motor vehicle crash on Greenville Avenue in the Town of Johnston. The subject was transported to State Police Headquarters where he was processed and later transferred to Third District Court for arraignment.
Domestic violence, probation violator On Friday, Feb. 16, at 8:30 p.m., troopers arrested Elton Rivera, 42, of 1342 Main St.,, West Warwick, Rhode Island, for Domestic Violence – Violation of a No Contact Order- 3rd and subsequent offense.
The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Main Street in West Warwick. Rivera was processed at the Hope Valley Barracks and held overnight pending morning arraignment as a 32(f) Probation Violator.
East Greenwich stop, domestic violence arrest On Feb. 20, At 11:50 p.m., troopers arrested Jonathan Desimone, 29, of 20 Manchester St., Apartment #25, West Warwick, Rhode Island for 1) Domestic Violence -Violation of No Contact Order – Third Offense and 2) Obstruction.
The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on New London Turnpike in East Greenwich. Desimone was transported to the Hope Valley Barracks and held overnight as a probation violator.
Warrant, child abuse On Feb. 14, members of the Rhode Island Violent Fugitive Task Force arrested Khalil Jordan, age 26, of 30 Long Street, East Greenwich, on an Affidavit and Arrest Warrant out of Warwick Police Department for two counts of 1st Degree Child Abuse.
Jordan was taken into custody without incident and turned directly over to the Warwick Police Department for arraignment.
DUI, Rte. 95 At 12:29 a.m., troopers arrested Brandon Fontaine, 22 of 21 Netop Drive, East Greenwich, Rhode Island for 1.) Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicating Liquor and or Drugs BAC Unknown and 2.) Refusal to Submit to Chemical Test.
The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Rte. 95 in Warwick. Fontaine was transported to the barracks where he was processed and later released into the custody of a responsible adult.
WG stop, DUI arrest At 12:59 a.m. March 4, troopers arrested Xiomara Tirado, 45, of 80 Cornet Stetson Road, Apt. 2, Scituate, Massachusetts, for 1.) Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicating Liquor and or Drugs – B.A.C. Unknown – First Offense; and 2.) Refusal to Submit to a Chemical Test.
The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Route 95 in West Greenwich. The subject was transported to the Wickford Barracks, where she was processed, arraigned by a Justice of Peace, and released to the custody of a responsible adult.
