Editor’s note: The following Warwick, RI area arrests recorded in the RI Trooper Log were reported by the RI State Police on their website. An arrest reflects charges against an individual, and does not indicate guilt or innocence.

WARWICK, RI — RI Trooper Log arrests in and near Warwick from Feb. 24 through Feb. 29  involved charges of DUI, Food Stamp fraud, receiving stolen goods and reckless driving.

Here are the details of those arrests:

Missed court, expired license charge At 5:50 p.m., Feb. 24, troopers arrested Gary Lefrancois, 51, of 30 Willow St., Apt 3F, West Warwick, RI, for Third District Court Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear on the Ability to Pay on the original charge Driving Without/Expired License originating out of the State Police Hope Valley Barracks.

The arrest was the result of a field interview on East Avenue in the City of Warwick.

Lefrancois was transported to the Wickford Barracks, processed, and arraigned by Justice of the Peace Robinson.

Food Stamp fraud charge At 11:27 a.m. Feb. 25, troopers arrested Casey Lafluer, 37, of 402 Elm St., Warwick, Rhode Island for: 1) Affidavit Arrest Warrant out of State Police Headquarters – Detectives for Fraudulent Use of Food Stamp.

The arrest was the result of a warrant check at 535 Centerville Road, in the City of Warwick. Lafleur was transported to State Police Headquarters, processed, and transported to Third District Court for arraignment.

Traffic stop, receiving stolen goods On Feb. 27 at 2:30 p.m., troopers arrested Yonell Fernandez, 24, of 69 Steuben St., Apt. #1, Providence, Rhode Island for Receiving Stolen Goods.

The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Rte. 95 South in Warwick. Fernandez was transported to the State Police Wickford Barracks where he was processed, arraigned by a Justice of the Peace and released.

Missed court on forgery, reckless driving, drug possession charges On Feb. 27, members of the Violent Fugitive Task Force arrested Michael Valequette, 38, of 5 Orchard Ave., Wakefield, Rhode Island, on the following: 1.) Providence Superior Court Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear for Restitution Review on an original charge of Forgery and Counterfeiting originating from the Rhode Island State Police Scituate Barracks; 2.) Providence Superior Court Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear for a Technical Violation Hearing on an original charge of Manufacturing and Delivery of a Controlled Substance originating from the Cranston Police Department; 3.) Kent County Superior Court Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear for a Technical Violation Hearing on an original charge of Reckless Driving originating from the Warwick Police Department; 4.)Washington County Superior Court Bench Warrant for Hold Without Bail – AG Request – Rule 9 on an original charge of Possession of Schedule I-V originating from the South Kingstown Police Department; 5.) Family Court Reciprocal Body Attachment for Non-Criminal Charge; 6.) Affidavit and Arrest Warrant from the Warwick Police Department for an original charge of Obtaining Food Accommodations with the Intent to Defraud; 7.) Affidavit and Arrest Warrant from the South Kingstown Police Department for an original charge of Computer Access; and 8.) Affidavit and Arrest Warrant from the South Kingstown Police Department for Domestic Cyber Stalking.

Valequette was processed at the Swansea Police Department and turned over to the Fall River District Court for arraignment as a Fugitive From Justice.

EG stop, DUI arrest At 2:33 a.m. Feb. 28, troopers arrested Daniel Smith, 22, of 97 Edmond Drive, Warwick, Rhode Island for 1.) Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicating Liquor and or Drugs -First Offense- BAC Unknown and 2.) Refusal to Submit to a Chemical Test.

The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Post Road in East Greenwich. Smith was transported to the Wickford Barracks for processing, arraigned by a Justice of the Peace, and later released to the custody of a responsible adult.

Traffic stop, missed court on shoplifting charges On Feb. 28, at 1:15 a.m., troopers arrested Joshua Olsen, 31, of 15 Broad St., Coventry, Rhode Island for 1.) Superior Court Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear for a Pre-trial Conference on the original charge of Shoplifting – Second Offense originating out of the Warwick Police Department, 2.) Superior Court Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear for Arraignment on the original charge of Shoplifting – Second Offence originating out of the North Kingstown Police Department, 3.) Affidavit and Arrest Warrant out of Johnston Police Department on the charge of Shoplifting, and 4.) Affidavit Arrest Warrant out of North Kingstown Police Department on the charge of Shoplifting.

The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Valley street in the City of Providence. The subject was transported to State Police Headquarters, processed and turned over to Johnston Police Department.

Missed court, embezzlement charge On Friday, Feb. 28, at 11:01 a.m., troopers arrested Deanine Smith, 46, of 195 Buttonwoods Ave., Warwick, Rhode Island on a Superior Court Full Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear for Sentencing on the charge of Embezzlement over $1,000 originating from the Warwick Police Department. This arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Rte. 6 in the City of Providence. The subject was transported to the Lincoln Woods Barracks where she was processed and later turned over to Providence Superior Court

Rte. 95 Stop, DUI charge On Saturday, Feb. 29, 2020, at 1:32 a.m., troopers arrested Allan Wang, 32, of 70 Greenbush Road, East Greenwich, Rhode Island for 1.) Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicating Liquor and/or Drugs, First Offense- B.A.C. Unknown, and 2.) Refusal to Submit to a Chemical Test.

The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Rte. 95, in Warwick. Wang was transported to the Lincoln Woods Barracks, processed, and later released into the custody of a responsible adult.

Erratic driver reports, DUI arrest On Saturday, Feb. 29, 2020, at 5:15 p.m., troopers arrested William Baxter Jr., 31, of 4 Brownlee Boulevard, Warwick, Rhode Island, for 1.) Driving under the influence of intoxicating liquor and/or drugs B.A.C. unknown – Second offense; and 2.) Refusal to submit to a chemical test.

The arrest was the result of Troopers responding to several E-911 calls for an erratic operator and a subsequent motor vehicle stop on Rte. 95, in the Town of Richmond. Baxter was processed at the Hope Valley Barracks, arraigned and then released into the custody of a responsible adult.

Check fraud warrant At 11:42 a.m. Feb. 29, troopers arrested Marla Yanice Sabater, 43, of 356 Manton Ave., Providence, Rhode Island on an Affidavit Arrest Warrant for Fraudulent Checks (Over $1,000) originating from the East Providence Police Department.

The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Rte. 95 South in Warwick. Sabater was transported to the Wickford Barracks where she was processed and later turned over to the East Providence Police Department.
