RI Trooper Log: DUI, Traffic Stops, Reckless Driving, Warrants

Warwick, RI – This week’s Rhode Island State Police activity in and nearby Warwick involved arrests for DUI and reckless driving stemming from traffic stops:

Traffic stop nabs court scofflaw On Friday Nov. 11, at 10:03 a.m., troopers arrested George Haney, 56 of 220 Johnson Street, Fall River, Massachusetts, on a Providence Superior Court Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear for Cost Review on the original charge of Driving without Consent of Owner originating out of the Providence Police Department.

The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Seminole Street in the City of Warwick. The subject was transported to the Wickford Barracks, processed and later turned over to Adult Correctional Institution Men’s Intake Center.

Traffic stop ends in DUI arrest At 2:19 a.m. Nov. 16, troopers arrested Nicholas D. Delgiudice, 27, of 38 Lorraine Ave., North Smithfield, RI for DUI/First Offense BAC .15/Greater (Phase I .168, Phase II .168). The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Rte. 37 in the City of Warwick. Subject was transported to the Wickford Barracks, processed, arraigned by a Justice of the Peace, and released into the custody of a responsible adult.

Trooper arrests man for reckless driving on Rte. 95 At 1:47 AM Nov. 16, Troopers arrested Santiago Baena, age 21, of 206 Washington Street, Central Falls, RI for 1.) Reckless Driving, 2.) Driving With A Suspended License First Offense, 3.) Obstructing a Police Officer in Execution of Duty, 4.) Disorderly Conduct, 5.) Resisting Legal/Illegal Arrest. The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Route 95 in the City of Warwick. Subject was transported to the Wickford Barracks where he was processed and held overnight pending morning arraignment at Third District Court.

Trooper arrests Warwick man for obtaining money under false pretenses At 9 a.m. Nov. 17, Trooper arrested Jerome McCarthy, age 28, of 86 Abbey Avenue, Warwick, RI for Obtaining Money Under False Pretenses/U $1,500. The arrest was a result of a barracks investigation. The subject was arraigned at Third District Court, presented as a probation violator and required to respond to the Lincoln Barracks for processing upon his release.

Crash ends with man’s arrest for missing DUI hearing At 6:30 p.m. Nov. 17, Trooper arrested Marc Sakkinen, age 41, of 1811 Warwick Ave, Warwick, RI for a Second District Court Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear for Ability to Pay on the charge of Driving Under the Influence – First Offense – BAC .10-.15 originating from the State Police Wickford Barracks. This arrest was the result of responding to a motor vehicle crash. The subject was transported to the Lincoln Woods Barracks where he was processed and turned over to the Adult Correctional Institution – Men’s Intake Center.
