RI Trooper Log: DUI, Alprazolam Possession, Court Scofflaw Arrests

Warwick, RI – Recent Rhode Island State Police activity in and involving Warwick between Dec. 20 and Dec. 22 involved two DUI arrests, once including a charge of Alprazolam possession, and an arrest for failing to appear in court on a suspended license charge:

Erratic operator report leads to DUI arrest: At 6:54 p.m. Dec. 21, troopers arrested Michael Bishop, 34, of 57 White Ave., Warwick, RI for 1) Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicating Liquor and/ or Drugs – Second Offense – B.A.C. Unknown and 2) Refusal to Submit to a Chemical Test.

The arrest was the result of an E911 call for an erratic operator and a subsequent motor vehicle stop on Route 95 in the Town of West Greenwich.

Erratic driver report leads to arrest on Alprazolam possession, DUI charges At 12:39 a.m. Dec. 21, Troopers arrested John J. Vieira, 39, of 41 Ricci Drive, North Providence, RI, for 1) Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicating Liquor and/ or Drugs – First Offense – B.A.C. Unknown, 2) Refusal to Submit to a Chemical Test, 3) Possession of Controlled Substance Schedule I – IV (Alprazolam), and 4) Driving in Possession of Controlled Substances.

The arrest was the result of an E911 call for an erratic operator and a subsequent motor vehicle stop on Route 95 in the City of Warwick.

Providence traffic stop ends in Warwick woman’s DUI arrest At 1:28 a.m. Dec. 22, troopers arrested Leah Deery, age 26, of 73 Country Club Drive, Warwick for Driving Under the Influence of Liquor and/or Drugs (BAC Unknown).

The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Amherst Street in the City of Providence. Deery was processed at State Police Headquarters, special arraigned by Justice of the Peace, and released to a responsible adult.

Providence traffic stop nabs court scofflaw At 8:38 p.m. Dec. 23,  a trooper arrested Nicholas Costa, 30, of 22 O’Neil Street, Apt. 1, Providence, RI on a Third District Court Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear/Ability to Pay on the original charge of Driving with a Suspended License, originating out of the Warwick Police Department.

The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Union Avenue in the City of Providence. The subject was processed and transported to the Adult Correctional Institute/Men’s ACI Intake Center.
