COVENTRY, RI — Coventry arrests and other Kent County arrests in the RI Trooper Log Aug. 17- 21 involved charges for forging license plates, assault, and unlicensed carry of a pistol.

WG Stop, Forged Plates At 11:24 a.m. Aug. 16 troopers arrested Fernando Veliz-Villa, 31, of 1040 Delaware Avenue, Island Park, New York, for 1.) Forgery and Counterfeiting of Registration Plates and 2.) Giving False Documents to a Public Official.
The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Route 95 in the Town of West Greenwich. Mr. Veliz-Villa was transported to the Hope Valley Barracks where he was processed, arraigned by a Justice of Peace, and released with a future Third Division District Court Date.
WG Stop, missed court At 1:11 a.m. Aug. 17, troopers arrested Milvio Ramirez, 30, of 35 Friar Tuck Lane, Coventry, Rode Island for 1.) Sixth District Court Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear for Arraignment on the original charge of Driving with a Suspended License originating out of the State Police Lincoln Woods Barracks.
The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Nooseneck Hill Road in the Town of West Greenwich. The subject was transported to the Hope Valley Barracks where he was processed, arraigned by the Justice of the Peace, and released after posting bail.
EG Stop, DUI charge At 2:45 a.m. Aug. 18, troopers arrested Nicholas Barrett, 21, of 100 Elena St., Apt. #523, Cranston, Rhode Island, for 1.) Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicating Liquor and/or Drugs – First Offense B.A.C. Unknown and 2.) Refusal to Submit to a Chemical Test. This arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Route 4 North in the Town of East Greenwich. Barrett was transported to the Wickford Barracks where he was processed and held overnight pending morning arraignment.
WW warrant: Obtaining vehicles with fraudulent intent At 11:01 p.m., Troopers arrested Jesse E. Boulais, age 37, of 15 Old Cemetery Hopkinton Road, Ashaway Rhode Island 02804 on 1.) a Family Court Bench Warrant for a Non-Criminal Charge Reciprocal Body Attachment and 2.) an Affidavit and Arrest Warrant for Obtaining Vehicles with Intent to Defraud, originating out of the West Warwick Police Department.
The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Route 95, in the Town of Exeter. The subject was transported to the State Police – Hope Valley Barracks, where he was processed and later turned over to the West Warwick Police Department.
WW man charged with assault At 11:15 p.m. Aug. 18, troopers arrested Kiel Dailey, 28, of Kowalik Drive, West Warwick, Rhode Island, for 1) Domestic Violence – Simple Assault / Battery and 2) Domestic Violence – Disorderly Conduct (Fighting / Tumultuous Behavior).
The arrest was the result of Emergency 911 call regarding a disturbance on Rte. 95 in Providence. Dailey was transported to the Lincoln Woods Barracks for processing and held overnight pending morning arraignment, where he will be presented as a probation violator in Sixth District Court.
WG stop, not licensed to carry pistol On Tuesday, Aug. 20, 2024 at 10:07 a.m., troopers arrested Anthony J. Lena, age 49, of 211 Quaker Lane, North Scituate, Rhode Island for 1.) License or Permit Required for Carrying Pistol, 2.) Large Capacity Feeding Devices Prohibited, and 3.) Forgery and Counterfeiting of Registration Plates. The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Rte. 95 South in the Town of West Greenwich. Mr. Lena was transported to the Hope Valley Barracks where he was processed and later transported to Third District Court for Arraignment.
Providence stop, DUI arrest On Wednesday, Aug. 21, 2024 at 1:56 AM, troopers arrested Jesus Mercedes, 43, of 900 Maple Valley Road, Coventry, Rhode Island for 1) Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicating Liquor and/or Drugs – B.A.C Unknown – 1st Offense 2) Refusal to Submit to Chemical Test.
The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Rte. 6 in Providence. The subject was transported to State Police – Headquarters where he was processed, arraigned and released to a responsible adult with a future Sixth Division District Court date.
EG Warrant, False Report At 11:03 p.m. Aug. 20, troopers arrested Vicsmarlin Estevez Tejada, 26, of 86 Newark St., Providence, Rhode Island on an Affidavit and Arrest for Making a False Report of a Crime originating out of the East Greenwich Police Department. Estevez Tejada was transported to the Lincoln Woods Barracks, where he was processed and turned over to the East Greenwich Police Department.
Man Arrested for Child Porn Possession, Transfer On Aug. 21, members of the Computer Crimes Unit/Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force arrested Mark Deshaies, 36, of 1565 Victory Highway, Coventry, Rhode Island, for the following: 1) Possession of Child Pornography; and 2.) Transfer of Child Pornography.
Deshaies was processed at the Wickford Barracks and arraigned in Third District Court. The Honorable Justice Houlihan set bail at $5,000 with surety, to include no intentional contact with minors and limited internet use.
