WARWICK, RI — State Police arrests in the RI Trooper Log between March 10 and March 14 in and involving Warwick included traffic stops and arrests for charges including casino cheating, fraud, driving a car without the owner’s consent and an immigration warrant.

Here are the details of those arrests:

Casino cheating arrest On March 10, members of the Gaming Enforcement Unit arrested Jacob Mitchell, 19, of 292 Chapmans Ave., Warwick, Rhode Island, on one count of Casino Gaming Cheating, Place, Increase, Decrease, or Remove a Wager.

Mitchell was processed at the Wickford Barracks and held as a bail violator pending a morning arraignment in Second District Court.

Warrant check yields arrest for fraud At 9:30 p.m. March 11, troopers arrested Richard Potter, 68, of 443 Bryantville Court, Warwick, Rhode Island, as a Fugitive from Justice from the State of New Jersey on the charge of Fraud/Impersonation originating from the Hudson County Sheriff’s Office, Jersey City, New Jersey.

The arrest was the result of troopers conducting a warrant check at Potter’s home. Potter was transported to the Wickford Barracks for processing, arraigned by a Justice of the Peace, and later transported to the Adult Correctional Institution Men’s Intake Center, pending morning arraignment at Third Division District Court.

Missed hearing on driving without owner’s consent At 11:57 p.m. March 12, troopers arrested Shemar Cameron, 22, of 120 Robinson St., Providence, Rhode Island on a Providence Superior Court Full Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear for Restitution Payment on the original charge of Driving without consent of owner.

The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Rte. 95 South in Warwick. Cameron was transported to the State Police Wickford barracks where he was processed and later transported to the Adult Correctional Institution – Men’s Intake Center.

Traffic stop ends with arrest on immigration warrant At 9:57 a.m. March 12, troopers arrested Jorge Genao – Cruz, 36, of 2 Marlborough Ave., Providence, Rhode Island, for 1) Obstructing officer in execution of duty 2) Giving false documents to a public official and 3) Immigration Warrant.

This arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Rte. 95 in the City of Warwick. Genao – Cruz was transported to the Lincoln Woods Barracks where he was processed and later arraigned at Third District Court.
