RI Trooper Log: Car Theft, B&E, Felony Assault

Editor’s note: The following RI arrests recorded in the RI Trooper Log were reported by the RI State Police on their website. An arrest reflects charges against an individual, and does not indicate guilt or innocence.

WARWICK, RI — RI Trooper Log arrests from May 25 through May 30 involved warrants for car theft, B&E and receiving stolen goods as well as a charge for felony assault.

Here are the details of those arrests:

Car theft, B&E warrant, Scituate At 1:45 p.m. May 25, troopers arrested Melissa DeCarlo,  40, of 808 Central Avenue, Pawtucket, RI for: 1) Possession of a Stolen Motor Vehicle 2) Affidavit Arrest Warrant out of the Woonsocket Police Department for Domestic Breaking/ Entering and Domestic Disorderly 3) Arrest Warrant out of Cheshire County (NH) Sheriff’s Office for Failure to Appear on the original charge for Unauthorized Use of Vehicle 4) Driving with a Suspended License- 3rd Offense.

The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Hartford Pike, in the Town of Scituate. DeCarlo was transported to the Attorney General’s Office for processing, and subsequently turned over to the Adult Correctional Institution – Women’s Intake.

Reckless driving, Rte. 4 At 5:54 p.m. May 26, troopers arrested Brian Doung, 21, of 652 Public St., Providence, Rhode Island for Reckless Driving and Other Offenses Against Public Safety.

The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Route 4 South in the Town of North Kingstown. Mr. Doung was misdemeanor released with a future Third Division District Court date.

Warrant for receiving stolen goods On Friday, May 29, 2020 at 9:44 p.m., troopers arrested Jarrod Rossi, 39, of 170 Amherst St., Manchester, New Hampshire, on an Affidavit Arrest Warrant originating out of the Rhode Island State Police Hope Valley Barracks on the charges of 1.) Receiving Stolen Goods, 2.) Obtaining Money under False Pretenses Under $1500.

The arrest was the result of a barracks investigation and the East Greenwich Police Department taking Rossi into custody. Rossi was processed, arraigned and released pending a future court date.

Felony Assault On May 29, members of the Major Crimes Unit charged Inmate, Axel Morales, 25 , of 53 Penn St., Providence, Rhode Island with Felony Assault with a Dangerous Weapon or Substance.

The arrest was the result of an investigation by members of the Major Crimes Unit assigned to the Adult Correctional Institutions. Inmate Morales was arraigned in Third Division District Court, issued $10,000.00 surety bail, presented as a Superior Court Violator, and remanded to the Adult Correctional Institutions.

No contact order violation On May 29, 2020, members of the Major Crimes Unit charged Inmate, Jose Matos, 31, of 373 Harriet St., Providence, Rhode Island, with the Violation of a Domestic No Contact Order, 3rd subsequent offense-Felony.

The arrest was the result of an investigation by members of the Major Crimes Unit assigned to the Adult Correctional Institutions. Matos, an inmate, was arraigned in Third Division District Court, issued $10,000.00 surety bail, presented as a Superior Court Violator, and remanded to the Adult Correctional Institutions.
