WARWICK, RI — RI Trooper Log arrests Sept. 25 – Oct. 2 in and surrounding Warwick involved charges for credit card fraud, bank robbery and DUI.
Here are the details of those arrests:
Credit card fraud At 4:01 p.m. Sept. 29, troopers arrested Lauretta Bennett, 34, of 318 Columbia Ave., Warwick, Rhode Island for: 1) Fraudulent Use of Credit Cards and 2) Larceny- Under $1,500. The arrest was the result of a barracks investigation conducted by Trooper Donovan and Troopers responding to Bennett’s residence for service of an Affidavit and Arrest warrant.
The subject was transported to State Police Headquarters, processed, special arraigned by the Justice of the Peace, and released with a future court date.
Wanted for bank robbery On Sept. 29, members of the Violent Fugitive Task Force arrested Joshua Lavigne, 40, of 19 Hutchison St. Warwick, on the following: 1.) Affidavit and Arrest Warrant drafted by the North Providence Police Department for Bank Robbery (Second Degree); 2.) Rhode Island Parole Board Violation Warrant for an original charge of Robbery; and 3.) Affidavit and Arrest Warrant drafted by the Warwick Police Department for Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle.
Lavigne was processed at the Lincoln Barracks and turned over to the North Providence Police Department.
Suspended license charge At 11:46 p.m. Oct. 1, troopers arrested Samantha L. Ledo, age 26, of 26 Laura Street, East Providence, Rhode Island, on an Affidavit and Arrest Warrant for Simple Assault and Driving on a Suspended License 5th Offense, originating from the East Providence Police Department.
The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Route 95 in the City of Warwick. The subject was transported to the Lincoln Woods Barracks for processing and later transported to the East Providence Police Department.
Speeding, DUI charge At 10:27 p.m., troopers of the Traffic Safety Unit arrested Jaclyn Brown 28 of 29 Prince St., Warwick RI for 1. Driving Under the Influence-1st Offense-BAC Unknown, 2. Reckless Driving and 3. Chemical Test Refusal-1st Offense.
The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop of a vehicle traveling 113 mph on Rte. 95 north in the City of Cranston. Ms. Jaclyn was transported to State Police Headquarters, processed and specially arraigned before a Justice of the Peace. She was later released into the custody of a responsible adult.
