RI Trooper Log: Assault, DUI, Obstruction

Editor’s note: The following RI arrests recorded in the RI Trooper Log were reported by the RI State Police on their website. An arrest reflects charges against an individual, and does not indicate guilt or innocence.

RI Trooper Log arrests  April 1 through April 6 involved DUI arrests on Rte. 95 in the Warwick, possession of a stolen pistol, and a protection order violation.

Here are the basics on those RI State Police arrests:

Rte. 95, DUI On Sunday, April 2, at 1:16 a.m., troopers arrested John May, 30, of 14 Larchmont Road, Warwick, Rhode Island, for 1.) Driving under the influence of intoxicating liquor and/or drugs BAC Unknown, and 2.) Refusal to submit to a chemical test. This arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Rte. 95 North, in the City of Cranston.

May was processed at the Lincoln Woods Barracks, arraigned, and released into the custody of a responsible adult.

Obstructing officer At 9:15 p.m., April 1, troopers arrested Jason Garfield Demontigny, 27, of 154 Fairfield Avenue, Woonsocket, Rhode Island, for Obstructing an Officer in the Execution of Duty.

The arrest resulted from a barracks investigation by Trooper Markowski and the Warwick Police Department advising that the party was in their custody.

Garfield Demontigny was processed at State Police – Headquarters, special arraigned by a Justice of the Peace as a violator, and later transported to the Adult Correctional Institution – Men’s Intake Center.

Domestic Disorderly Conduct At 3:01 p.m April 3, troopers arrested Kellie Vega, 29, of 9 Coogan Street, West Warwick, Rhode Island on an Affidavit Arrest Warrant from 3/19/23 for Domestic Disorderly Conduct originating out of the Warwick Police Department.

The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Bald Hill Road in the Town of West Warwick. The prisoner was transported to the Hope Valley Barracks where she was processed, photographed and turned over to the Warwick Police Department.

Assault, Disorderly Conduct On Wednesday, April 5, 2023, at 10:17 p.m., troopers arrested Jesse Provost, 33, of 30 Howard Avenue, Cranston, Rhode Island, for 1.) Simple Assault or Battery and 2.) Affidavit and arrest warrant for Assault on a Healthcare Provider and Disorderly Conduct originating out of the Warwick Police Department.

The arrest was the result of Troopers responding to a disturbance at Harrington Hall, in the City of Cranston. Provost was processed at the Lincoln Woods Barracks and held overnight pending arraignment at the Third Division District Court.

 

Suspended license warrant On Wednesday, April 5, at 10:57 p.m., troopers arrested Issac Lee, 34, of 16 Myrtle St., Providence, Rhode Island, on a Third Division District Court bench warrant for failure to appear for arraignment on the charge of Driving with a Suspended License originating out of the Warwick Police Department.

 

The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Cranston Street, in the City of Providence. Lee was processed at the Lincoln Woods Barracks and then turned over to the Adult Correctional Institution Intake Center.

 

Missed court, assault At 12:03 a.m. April 6, troopers arrested Jasmine Brown, 23, of 37 Hawley Ave., Warwick, Rhode Island, for a 1) Third Division District Court Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear for Pretrial Conference on the original charge of Domestic Violence – Simple Assault originating out of Warwick Police Department; and 2) an Affidavit and Arrest Warrant for Shoplifting originating out of the Warwick Police Department.

 

The arrest resulted from a traffic stop on Danielson Pike in the Town of Foster. Brown was transported to the Scituate Barracks, processed, and later turned over to the Warwick Police Department.
