RI Trooper Log: Arrests on Robbery, Conspiracy and Reckless Driving Charges

Warwick, RI – Rhode Island State Police made several Warwick-related arrests this week on charges ranging from robbery, receiving stolen goods and conspiracy to forgery and reckless driving.

Warwick man arrested on stolen goods, conspiracy charges On May 17, members of the Financial Crimes Unit arrested Barney F. Freedline, 62, of 57 Northup St., Warwick, charging him with: 1) Receiving Stolen Goods; 2) Conspiracy; and 3) Filing a False Statement to Obtain a License or Registration.

Freedline was processed at State Police Headquarters and arraigned in Sixth Division District Court. Mr. Freedline was released on five thousand dollars ($5,000) with surety.

 Driver wanted for shoplifting arrested in Providence At 1:30 a.m. May 18, troopers arrested Kevin Taylor, 25, of 39 Venice St., Providence, on an Affidavit and Arrest Warrant out of the Warwick Police Department on the original charge of Shoplifting.

The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Potters Avenue in Providence. Taylor was transported to the Lincoln Woods Barracks, processed and turned over to the Warwick Police Department.

Traffic stop nabs court scofflaw on conspiracy charge At 3 a.m. May 18, troopers arrested Emily Bureath, 24, of 51 Priscilla Ave., Providence, RI on a Third District Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear for the Ability to Pay on the original charge of Conspiracy out of the Cranston Police Department.

The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Jefferson Boulevard in the City of Warwick. Bureath was transported to the Wickford Barracks, processed, and turned over to the Adult Correctional Institution Women’s Intake Center.

Traffic stop ends in arrest of court scofflaw At 3:34 a.m. May 18, troopers arrested Yeury Rodriguez, 28, of 15 Vineyard St. Apt. 407 Cranston, RI on a Third District Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear for Sentencing on the original charge of Driving with a Suspended License out of the Warwick Police Department.

The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Rte. 95 in the City of Warwick. The subject was transported to the Wickford Barracks, processed, and turned over to the Adult Correctional Institution Intake Center.

Warwick man apprehended on robbery, forgery warrants On May 18, members of the Violent Fugitive Task Force arrested Brian Leford, 35, of 32 Cedar Pond Drive Apt 2, Warwick, on the following Warrants: 1) Providence Superior Court for Failure to Appear for Robbery; 2) Providence Superior Court for Failure to Appear for Forgery Counterfeiting; 3) Kent Superior Court for Failure to Appear Violation for Stolen Goods; 4.) Kent Superior Court for Failure to Appear for 2nd Degree Robbery; 5) Kent Superior Court for Failure to Appear for Receiving Stolen Goods; and 6) Kent Superior Court for Failure to Appear on Breaking and Entering.

Ledford was turned over to authorities at Kent Superior Court.

Warwick man arrested for reckless driving At 6:19 p.m. May 19, troopers arrested Ernest F. Isom, 20, of 64 Aberdeen Ave., Warwick, RI, for Reckless Driving.

This arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Route 146 North in the Town of Lincoln. The subject was transported to the Lincoln Woods Barracks where he was processed, arraigned by a Justice of the Peace and released.

Warwick man arrested for taking money under false pretenses At 7 p.m. May 19, troopers arrested Sean M. Herald, 39, of 64 Blackburn St., Warwick, RI for Obtaining Money Under False Pretense (Over $1,500).

The arrest was the results of a barracks investigation. Subject was processed and held overnight at the Wickford Barracks pending morning arraignment.

Providence man arrested on Warwick warrant At 2:45 a.m. May 19, troopers arrested Jerenis Flores, 21, of 10 Barry Road Providence, RI for a Third District Court Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear / Ability to Pay on the original charge of Misdemeanor Shoplifting originating out of the Warwick Police Department.

The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Hartford Avenue in the City of Providence. The subject was transported to Headquarters, processed, and later transported to the Adult Correctional Institution – Women’s Intake Center.
