RI Trooper Log: Arrests for Missing Court, Shoplifting, Hit & Run

Warwick, RI – State Police activity in and involving Warwick this week involved a number of traffic stops leading to the arrest of people wanted on various charges including shoplifting, hit & run and also for failing to show in court on various charges including DUI and domestic assault.

Traffic stop nabs man wanted for shoplifting At 7:36 a.m. April 23, troopers arrested Robert Dorazio, 37, of 66 Burnett St., Providence, RI, charging him with: 1.) Affidavit and Arrest Warrant on the charge of Felony Shoplifting originating out of the Johnston Police Department, 2.) Kent County Superior Court Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear for Arraignment on the original charge of Felony Shoplifting originating out of the Warwick Police Department, 3.) Providence County Superior Court Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear for Cost Review on the original charge of Shoplifting originating out of the Cranston Police Department.

The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Rte. 95 South in the City of Providence, while Corporal Navarro was assigned to Speed Aggressive Driving Detail. Dorazio was transported to the Lincoln Woods barracks, where he was processed, and later turned over to the Johnston Police Department.

Rte. 95 stop ends in arrest of man wanted for hit & run At 9:02 a.m. April 24, troopers arrested Angel Otero, 46, of 22 Rand St., Central Falls, Rhode Island for 1.) Affidavit and Arrest Warrant for Duty to Stop Resulting in Personal Injury or Death out of Central Falls Police Department. 2.) Sixth District Court Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear on Ability to Pay on the original charge of Driving With an Expired License out of the State Police Lincoln Barracks.

The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Rte. 95 in Warwick. Subject was transported to the Wickford Barracks, processed, and turned over to Central Falls Police Department.

Stop on Rte. 95 catches court scofflaw At 2:41 a.m. April 27, troopers arrested Joseph Vanover, 29, of 1155 Douglas Ave., North Providence, Rhode Island for 1) Third District Court Bench Warrant for Failure To Appear for a Pre-Trial Conference on the charge of Driving With a Suspended License originating out of North Providence Police Department and 2) Superior Court Bench Warrant for Failure To Appear For Cost Review on the charge of Driving Without Consent of Owner originating out of Providence Police Department.

The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Rte. 95 in Warwick. Vanover was transported to the Wickford Barracks where he was processed and later turned over to the Adult Correctional Institution- Men’s Intake Center.

Rte. 3 stop nabs DUI court hearing scofflaw At 12:03 a.m. April 27, troopers arrested Kenneth Mitchell, 34, of 86 Oakside St., Warwick, RI on a Third District Court Bench Warrant, Failure to Appear for Pretrial Conference on the original charge of Driving Under the Influence of Drugs, Alcohol and Toluene originating out of the Warwick Police Department.

The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Rte. 3 in the Town of West Greenwich. Mitchell was transported to the Hope Valley Barracks, processed and transported to the Adult Correctional Institute- Men’s Intake.

At 2:01 a.m. April 28, troopers arrested Jason Muir, age 27, of 63 Top Hill Drive, West Kingston, Rhode Island, for Driving Under the Influence / First Offense BAC .15 or Greater (Phase I .145, Phase II .151). The arrest was the result of an investigation of a disabled motor vehicle on Route 95 South in the City of Warwick. The subject was transported to the Wickford Barracks where he was processed and held overnight pending morning arraignment.

Shoplifting warrant yields arrest after Rte. 95 stop At 8:35 p.m. April 28, troopers arrested Eric M. Tretton, 30, of 85 Birkshire Drive Apt. 1, Warwick, RI for an Affidavit and Arrest Warrant for Shoplifting out of the Warwick Police Department.

The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Route 95 North, in the City of Providence. The subject was transported to the State Police Lincoln Woods Barracks, where he was processed and later turned over to the Warwick Police Department.

Troopers stop, arrest man for missing court on domestic assault charge At 12:49 a.m. April 28, troopers arrested Anthony Woodbury, 27, of 18 Orth St., Pawtucket, RI for a Third District Court Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear for Arraignment on the original charge of Domestic Simple Assault originating out of the Warwick Police Department.

The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Pennsylvania Avenue in Providence. Woodbury was transported to the Lincoln Woods Barracks, where he was processed, and turned over to the Adult Correctional Institution – Men’s Intake Center.
