RI Trooper Arrests: Counterfeiting, B&E Warrant, Domestic Violence

WARWICK, RI — RI State Police arrests this week included traffic stops and investigations resulting in charges for counterfeiting, breaking and entering, domestic violence and missing court hearings on larceny and suspended license charges.

Troopers arrest Warwick man on counterfeiting charge At 9:40 a.m. July 25, Troopers arrested David Cloutier, 44, of 600 Cole Farm Road, Apartment B24, Warwick, Rhode Island, for Forgery and Counterfeiting in General. The arrest was a result of a Barracks investigation conducted by Trooper Maddox.

Cloutier was processed and later transported to Third District Court for arraignment.

Troopers arrest Johnston man wanted in Warwick for B&E, Domestic Violence At 2:11 a.m. July 25, troopers arrested Michael Thedford Johnson, 23, of 17 Mulberry Circle, Johnston, Rhode Island for 1.) Superior Court Bench Warrant for 32F Probation Violation on the original charge of Breaking and Entering out of the Warwick Police Department and, 2) Superior Court Bench Warrant for 32F Probation Violation on the original charge of Domestic Violence out of the Warwick Police Department.

The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Rte. 95 South in the City of Warwick. The subject was transported to the Wickford Barracks where he was processed and later turned over to the Adult Correctional Institution-Intake Center.

Troopers arrest Cranston man on domestic violence charge At 1:26 a.m. July 26, troopers arrested Dereck Curran, 33, of 187 Narragansett St., Cranston, RI for 1.) Domestic Simple Assault – Third Offense and, 2.) Domestic Disorderly Conduct – Third Offense. The arrest was the result of an investigation by Troopers who were flagged down on Jefferson Boulevard in the City of Warwick by a good Samaritan who reported an altercation at the Motel 6. The subject was transported to the Wickford Barracks, processed, and held overnight pending morning arraignment.

Good Samaritan alerts troopers to domestic assault At 1:26 a.m. July 26, troopers arrested Cassandra Contois, 28, of 30 Marietta St., Providence, RI for 1.) Domestic Simple Assault and, 2.) Domestic Disorderly Conduct. The arrest was the result of an investigation by troopers who were flagged down on Jefferson Boulevard in the City of Warwick by a good Samaritan who reported an altercation at Motel 6.

Contois was transported to the Wickford Barracks, processed, and held overnight pending morning arraignment.

Court scofflaw arrested during traffic stop At 3:47 p.m. July 27, troopers arrested Jamal Lee, 24, of 128 Oak St., Providence, RI, on a Third District Court Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear for Arraignment on the original charge of Driving with a Suspended License out of the Warwick Police Department.

The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Rte. 4 in East Greenwich. The subject was transported to the Wickford Barracks, processed and turned over to the Adult Correctional Institution.

At 10:27 a.m. July 28, troopers arrested Michael Shaw, 33, of 160 Broad St., Providence, RI, for 1) Providence Superior Court Bench Warrant Failure to Appear for Sentencing on Technical Violation on the original charge Larceny over $1,500, originating out of the Warwick Police Department and 2) Sixth District Court Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear for Arraignment on the original charge of Larceny under $1500 originating out of the East Providence Police Department. This arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Hartford Avenue in the City of Providence. The subject was transported to State Police Headquarters where he was processed and later transported to Sixth District Court for arraignment.
