This year’s celebrity headliners include Hayden Christensen, who portrayed Anakin Skywalker in the Star Wars prequels (Saturday only); Gwendoline Christie, who will be familiar to fans of both Game of Thrones and Star Wars for her Brienne of Tarth and Captain Phasma roles, respectively (Saturday and Sunday only), Tim Curry, renowned character actor famous for his roles as Dr. Frankenfurter in The Rocky Horror Picture Show, Clue, and as Pennyworth the clown in the original TV adaptation of Stephen King’s IT; and Kiefer Sutherland, whom fans of the TV show 24 will remember, as will 80s movie buffs familiar with The Lost Boys and Young Guns.
Fans will also have a chance to meet Randy Quaid, Tom Felton of The Flash and Harry Potter fame, Zarchary Levi, who stars in Shazam and David Harbour of Stranger Things. In all, there are 96 celebrities attending this year’s con.
The event will also feature cosplayers of casual, not-so-casual and cosplay appearances throughout the weekend, and more than 50 artists. Celebrity panels run throughout the three-day event, during which fans of the Netflix Marvel show The Iron Fist will get a chance to talk to the cast of the recently canceled show.
General admission for a three-day pass is $85 for adults, and $30 for kids 6 years to 12-years-old.
One logistical change of note for those who’ve attended RI ComicCon shows in the past include the decision to make the pedestrian bridge between the Dunkin Donuts Center and the Convention Center two ways this year (in previous years it was only one-way).
