RI Air Show 2015: Chill with the Thrills

The RI Air National Guard Open House Air Show drew thousands Saturday for a sunny day filled with high-flying thrills.

Arrayed along the way between spectators and the flying stunt show of the hour were a number of food and activity vendors, including Warwick Boy Scout Troop 1 Gaspee’s Pita and Gyro booth and the Air National Guard zip line, name a few.

Savvy sightseers took advantage of Saturday’s prime weather conditions – 80 degrees with only the occasional cloud. On Sunday, weather is forecast to start off partly cloudy in the morning followed by afternoon thunderstorms. On the bright side, the temperature is expected to reach the 70s.

Warwick Post took the opportunity to capture a little of the action Saturday, in case you couldn’t make it there yourself. Please check out our brief gallery for a vicarious thrill or two.

You might not have noticed last year when the Warwick Post began, but this is the second year the Warwick Post has been to the show. That time we had a brief interview with Warwick native Col. Ed Corcoran, who was, at the time, commander of the 1st Operations Group at Joint Base Langley-Eustis in Virginia.

You can also check out a video interview with Corcoran from last year, in case you missed it.
