Solomon Serves Dinners for Meals on Wheels

On March 26, Mayor Joe Solomon joined #mealsonwheelsri to deliver a meal to homebound Warwick senior Shirley Gervais, a lifelong Rhode Islander who depends on the program’s home-delivered meal service to have enough to eat.

Though she lives alone and is rarely visited, Gervais enjoys the companionship of her beloved dog, Dante, who wouldn’t sit still long enough to be in the photo.

The visit was the second Solomon had made in the last few weeks. On March 19, Solomon helped deliver meals to shut-in residents during the organization’s annual and 50^th anniversary year March for Meals campaign to generate public and fiscal support for the organization’s vital services that help thousands of homebound Rhode Island seniors remain healthy and safe in their own homes.
