Warwick, RI – Warwick Police Department’s National Night Out has been rescheduled for Aug. 26 after the early August “macro-burst” storm’s downed trees and power outages prompted the original date’s cancellation.

At the time of the Aug. 4 storm, National Night Out organizers announced the event,  designed to bring law enforcement together with members of the community, particularly children, would not be rescheduled. But the free event was back on the schedule within a week, minus the fireworks, which could not be rescheduled.

National Night Out returns to the Oakland Beach Commons near the  sea wall at 5 p.m. Aug. 26 with karate and police dog demonstrations, kids giveaways and refreshments, ending at 9 p.m.
